Tagalog is like… three languages in a mixer 😅

Tagalog is not easy for me.

Sometimes I understand. Sometimes zero. Because it’s English… then Spanish… then Tagalog… all mixed. 😅

Like this: Mesa is table — Spanish. Spoon is kutsara — Spanish again. But chair is upuan — pure Tagalog. And then: Nagdi-drive siya. Magju-jogging ako later. So confusing for my brain! 😂

Sometimes I want to say: “I’m tired.” Should I say: Pagod ako? Or Estoy cansado? Or maybe just I’m so pagod na. I don’t know anymore. 😅

And when I try to speak, people say: “It’s okay, we speak English.” Yes, I know. But you speak it fast — with Tagalog inside. Hard to follow! 😅

Sometimes I feel like… maybe my girlfriend doesn’t really want me to understand everything. 😄 When she talks with the other ladies in her beauty salon… They look at me… smile… laugh… And speak very fast in Tagalog. I just sit there and smile. 😊

But I keep trying. Because if I learn Tagalog, even a little… I can feel more at home. I want to understand the heart, not only the words.

These photos are from the day before yesterday. I walked alone in Lobo. As always, just me and the road.
