Robot Helped Me

I was scrolling on TikTok yesterday when I saw a video claiming that it was created by AI. One of the videos shows a robot cooking and cleaning the dishes. I was thinking like “meh, I don’t think there is something like this right now”.

But on second thought, I was thinking, what will happen if robots take over the household chores and I do absolutely nothing?

Come to think of it, instead of washing the dishes and my clothes, robots and machines can just do it instead of me. I think it is a bit exciting and maybe a hesitation for me.

In our apartment, my everyday routine is to wake up, cook and prepare my food, then take a bath. After a week, I will wash my clothes manually because we do not have a washing machine, nor can I can’t afford to pay for my laundry weekly.

Doing all of these chores takes a lot of time. I don’t know why, but every time I cook food, I always consume more than an hour, which includes preparing and cooking. It was very exhausting, which is why I often buy food outside instead, because you can just eat right after.

But with a robot, if they can do everything for me, I think it will be a good idea to do something more productive instead of consuming more than an hour for a single chore.

I have some hobbies like reading someone’s blog and learning from email newsletters from Refind. I also love exploring side-hustles, so I think doing these things in my spare time would be more productive.

Just like what most rich people do, they always delegate their work, while they look for more opportunities to earn money, and I want to do the same. But sometimes, you know, when laziness strikes, distractions might hit me, and then I scroll mindlessly.

It is good when you hear it for the first time, but I think I am also hesitant with the idea because now that AI exists, I will not deny that I am now killing my creativity by being dependent that much instead of thinking using my brain.

You see, if AI takes over my household chores, I won’t have time to think and talk to myself. For your information, I always create ideas when doing some activities like washing the dishes, washing my clothes, and even when I am taking a bath. I don’t know, but my brain works well while doing those chores.

With robots, I think we are gaining something – convenience, but at the same time, we are losing creativity. I am not against using robots and AI, but I believe that this tool shouldn’t replace us, and we shouldn’t fully rely on it because we might lose more of ourselves than what we gain.
