Expanding My Potato Farm – Week 5 Update

Hello everyone!

So... Last two week, I shared how my potato plants progressed from Week 1 to Week 3. Now, we’re at Week 5, and I have been working on expanding the farm to plant more and more potatoes.

However, I noticed that the soil texture isn’t ideal. It is too dry and it doesn’t hold much water. To preserve moisture and retain soil structure, I decided to cover up the soil heaps with dry grasses... Lovely right.

Below, I have listed my aims / the desired results:
Aim 1: To retain moisture.
Aim 2: To create a better environment for the potatoes to grow well.
Aim 3: To promote bacterial growth.
Aim 4: To ensure the survival of biological organisms such as earth worms.

What do you think about the aims?

I have also been keeping an eye on the weather. It has been playing hide and seek since I woke up. It looks like rain might fall today. If it does, I’ll remove the grass covering to let the plants soak up the water naturally. Fingers crossed for good growth!

Below are some pictures of the farm, and you can also see a few above.
