Pokémon GO Fest 2020 makeup event recap - Shiny Heatmor and more!

Ahoy everyone! Two weeks ago Pokémon GO Fest 2020 took place, during some of the habitats there were issues for many players so Niantic planned a makeup event for all ticket holders. That took place today from 11 am through 2 pm local time. It featured the fire, water and friendship habitats, each for one hour in their respective order.

I haven't written about my GO Fest experience yet, it was around that time my pc died and editing all the screenshots would've been really annoying and difficult from phone. I am still looking to write about those two days, most likely in two separate posts to cover both days in a separate post. What do you think?

All tickets holders could participate in this makeup event today with Pokémon spawning in the wild according to their habitat and some Pokémon only appearing on incense. We could claim a box in the shop for free containing 2 Incense and 2 Remote Raid Passes, which was limited to one claim. Although this didn't show up immediately, I looked for it throughout the first hour. Eventually it did show up. I assume that means it was only available to claim within the 3 hour window of the event.

We started off with the Fire habitat, throughout that hour I could see several wild Magmar spawning, as well as other Fire-type Pokémon that were there during GO Fest. I was really surprised when I clicked on one of them and it turned out to be Shiny! That's a new Shiny as it's my first ever Shiny Magmar!
The regional Pokémon Durant and Heatmor were available during GO Fest too, with Heatmor being a Fire-type that means it was available during this makeup event as well. Though only available as an Incense spawn, so more random to come across. During the GO Fest event two weeks ago I was unable to find it Shiny, but today I managed to get a Shiny Heatmor!! :D
For the rest of the event I did not encounter another Shiny.
After the event I walked around a bit with more with a friend who joined me during the last hour. We decided to do some of the Field Research Tasks from various Pokéstops, as we didn't bother doing them during the event. One of their encounter rewards gave me a Shiny Poliwag!

Although the Poliwag wasn't part of the event spawns, and caught afterwards, I still felt like including it here as it was encountered in the same play session. Here is a screenshot of all 3 Shiny Encounters!

When the event was over I traded some of the Pokémon caught during. Not all of them yet as that would be more than the daily limit of 100 trades. Mostly traded the Flareon, Vaporeon and Togetic from today and some of the wild spawns after the event. I managed to get a Lucky Flareon and a Lucky Togetic from those trades!

A 96% Togetic is definitely not bad, and mostly better than what I already had. On top of that it's Lucky, so it costs less Stardust to power up. I'm most likely going to be keeping this one and powering it up, it'll be a great fighter against many Dragon-type Raid Bosses. The friend I traded it with got a Lucky Togetic with the exact same stats! Theirs just had higher CP than mine as I traded them a higher level one. Most of the Togetic were caught from Incense, only a few were caught in the wild.

Unown G and O were also featured during GO Fest, these were only available from Incense, throughout the whole duration of the event in any habitat. I managed to capture 32 of them today as you can see in the next screenshot.

I still have to trade some of them to see if I can get one or more Lucky. Which is the same for the Unown I caught during the actual GO Fest as I haven't traded those yet either, it'll be something to do during this month.

Overall this makeup event has gone quite well for me. There was a lack of Shinies in the last 2 hours, but I managed to get 2 Shinies that I didn't have yet in the first hour with one being regional. So that doesn't bother me at all! I did a search for 4* and no new results showed up so no 100% encounter today. I'll have to see what some of the trading in the next days could result in!
