How Hive Opened My Eyes and Changed My Online Life

Before Hive, I used to think the internet was just for fun and wasting time. I was always on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok just scrolling and laughing. I didn’t know that there was something like Hive where I can be myself meet people, share my thoughts, and even earn from it.
My journey on Hive started when someone in a WhatsApp group mentioned it. At first I ignored it, like abeg all these online things again But one day, I was just curious and clicked the link. I saw people sharing their stories, pictures, poems, and even food recipes. It was different. It was real.
I decided to create an account and wrote my first introduction post. To be honest, I was shy and scared. I was thinking nobody will care or read it. But within a few hours, people started commenting and welcoming me. Some even followed me and said nice things. That day, I felt noticed. And it touched me.
Hive changed the way I see social media. Here, it’s not about fake life or trying to impress anyone. It’s about being real. I’ve seen people post deep things, life struggles, simple daily moments, and they still get love and support. I started posting my own stories, some personal, some random thoughts, and I was shocked that people could relate. That made me feel like I’m not alone.
One thing I love about Hive is the community spirit. The Naija Hive family especially, they are welcoming. People help each other, comment, reblog, guide you when youre lost. I’ve even met some Hivians in real life now, and we talk often. It’s not just online friendship. It’s something deeper.
Another thing is that Hive gave me hope. I’m not earning millions yet, but the small rewards I get from my post, it shows me that value is appreciated. I used my first HBD to buy airtime. I was so happy, I even showed my sibling, like “see o, this thing works.” Since then, I started taking it more serious. I now plan my content, take my time to write better, and I’ve improved as a writer.
I also learn a lot from Hive. People post about crypto, health, tech, lifestyle so many things. I just dey learn steady. My thinking has changed. I now know the internet is not just for watching skits. It can also help you grow and meet people who care.
Hive came into my life when I needed a space to express myself and connect with people. And it gave me exactly that. It feels like I’ve found a new home. A peaceful and supportive one.
If you’re still doubting Hive, my advice is simple: just try. You don’t need to be perfect. Just be yourself. That’s what Hive loves.
Until next time, thanks for reading through
