A relaxed bike ride to the Danube River - Opuštena vožnja biciklom do reke Dunav

Saturday afternoon, I set out to ride my bike to my favorite destination. It is the place where the Danube-Tisa-Danube canal flows into the Danube river. The day was sunny and pleasant weather for relaxing by bike.

(U subotu popodne, krenuo sam biciklom do moje omiljene destinacije. To je mesto gde se kanal Dunav-Tisa-Dunav uliva u reku Dunav. Dan je bio sunčan i prijatno vreme za opuštanje biciklom.)

As I approached the Danube River, I came across a high observation post where soldiers once controlled this place because it is close to the border with Romania, and the Danube is the natural border between the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and Serbia.

(Kako sam se približavao reci Dunav, naišao sam na visoku osmatračnicu gde su vojnici nekada kontrolisali ovo mesto jer je blizu granice sa Rumunijom, a Dunav je prirodna granica između Autonomne pokrajine Vojvodine i Srbije.)

The bike path took me to the confluence of the Nera River and the Danube. The Nera River is a shallow river, but at its mouth it is both wide and deep. I wrote about the Nera River in one of my previous posts. Now I will show you what its confluence looks like.

(Biciklistička staza me je odvela do ušća reke Nere u Dunav. Reka Nera je plitka reka, ali je na ušću i široka i duboka. O reci Neri sam pisao u jednom od svojih prethodnih postova. Sada ću vam pokazati kako izgleda njeno ušće.)

Then, from the mouth of the Nera River, I turned right next to the Danube towards the mouth of the DTD Canal into the Danube River.

(Zatim, od ušća reke Nere, skrenuo sam desno pored Dunava ka ušću kanala DTD u reku Dunav.)

In this place, the Danube River is the widest in its entire course.At this point, the Danube River is about 5 km wide.

(Na ovom mestu, reka Dunav je najšira u celom svom toku.Na ovom mestu, reka Dunav je široka oko 5 km)

Then I went straight on the road for another 2 km and arrived at my destination, the mouth of the DTD Canal in the Danube River.
(Zatim sam išao pravo putem još 2 km i stigao na svoje odredište, ušće kanala DTD u reku Dunav.)

At the mouth of the DTD Canal, there is the Danube Flower Restaurant. I took a break there and had an espresso with milk.

(Na ušću kanala DTD nalazi se restoran „Dunavski cvet“. Tamo sam napravio pauzu i popio espreso sa mlekom.)

Then I took this photo from the restaurant terrace

On the bank of the canal there are many boats with which fishermen go to catch fish
