Going Against the Status Quo

Being a small fish in a big pond sure poses a lot of interesting challenges!

During my first days on Hive, I did my best not to fight the current, just go with the flow. My small net didn't give me much reach, and I only had enough power to post once a day. I had to follow the unwritten rules, evaluate when would be the best day -- the best time to post.

This reality left me creatively restricted. There were countless times when I itched to post endlessly, but I could only work with what I had. The blow that my poor heart had to endure when the one post of the day never took off, and I had to wait another 7 days to post in that group again.

I am currently a minnow, granted with a bit more power this time around. I finally have the means necessary to post multiple times a day, only this time, the thought never bothered to occur to me. I had become so acquainted with the status quo that I didn't try to imagine any other way of life!

Now that I have -- now that I am beginning to carve my own path -- it has been so much more rewarding, in more ways than one! 🙏 Even if my post is something very niche, I manage to find a community that suits the need. I no longer need to become hyper fixated on a single post; I don't need to place all of my expectations into one post.

I have been doing my best to be active with comments as well, always remembering how important it is to continously give back.

Today, for example, I have consistently posted several different times. A writing community, a book club, a poem that I wrote in literally 10 minutes, and now this rant! 😂 I even have a fifth post on standby, but I have decided to save it for tomorrow. I think I have bombarded enough people today! 😄
