I just went through the questions line by line and responded off the top of my head.
I certainly dont think i have all the answers. But i think Hive will find Thrive if it leans on its community for ideas. I happily give my ideas for the best hive that id like to see. The cool thing about Hive in my opinion is that there are many ways for Hive to find success. Our strength is the Hive communities diversity IMO
Goals
Please provide your Top 3 goals
1. Find and reward quality Content Creators. Find and reward quality Engagement
2. A better experience onboarding and being onboarded.
3. Create more interoperability with Bitcoin and selected crypto’s ie. V4V and recent Dash bridge
Vision
Hive Vision Statement:
-By Creators and Curators and For Creators and Curators.
-Ownership over Digital footprint. Ie. In this new attention economy, Hive provides autonomy and benefits via engagement. Community created tools to foster Autonomy. You have the keys, your vote brings value to the chain.
Gamification of Effort
Proof of Brain and Stake
Hive Mission Statement:
-Continue onboarding good people, continue supporting good communities! Hive Thrives when genuine humans --genuinely interact.
-A Hive can describe any busy, organized, and bustling environment. For example, a “hive of activity” refers to a place where people are actively working together, similar to how bees operate in a hive. Hives mission should be to Buzz!
-Buzz loud and Buzz proud
-Buzzzzzz on you crazy diamond
Hive Values
Commitment to Decentralization
Revenue Participation
User ownership of Digital Sovereignty
Where do I see Hive in 1, 5, 10 years?
1. I see Hive in 1 year.....
- finished riding the wave of the bull run and with new excited users, getting ready to keep building during bear market
- I see Hive in 5 years…
- with more robust tools and with a growing user base. Hive will be on more exchanges and have more bridges to other trusted cryptos and more interoperability with big daddy BTC
3. I see Hive in 10 years...
- Hive will mature into a very user friendly tool for all things social media and digital diary wallet. The masses will have realized how vital it is to own and control your own digital media footprint. HIVE will be poised and ready for all of the new micro CEO’s coming on board.
SWOT analysis
Strengths
Army of Users- many skilled creators from all directions
Not Sun’s STEEM- Great Origin Story (A Communities Rebellion)
Longevity in Crypto and living up to Decentralizatoin
Weaknesses
Onboarding and Retention
In fighting, self sabotage, reward pool abuse
Too many bots and shit posting
Opportunities
Welcome Back to Hive— many accounts were created on Steem, we could have a campaign to encourage accounts to come back and write a new post. 10% of accounts created by real humans could become returned users #introducemyselfagain (create a support path for accounts that reactivate)
We have the start of the bull run right now. We could put into action multiple onboarding and retention experiments and study results in the next bear market.
Encourage dapps and dapp makers
Threats
1. Complacency
2. Hive is first mover in the own your own social media blockchain game. Hive could lose this advantage to another chain.
3. Destroyed from within. Top 20 Witnesses dont guide the chain to Thrive.
Priorities
My top 3 marketing priorities in order of importance?
1. Digital/physical convergence projects
2. Very select Tech events/ Hivefest / smaller in-person Hivefest events and meetups
3. Physical Marketing initiatives / peer to peer boot camps / competitions with real world localized prizes.
What do i care about the most as a User of Hive. A Hivian...
1. Sharing Content, Owning my own content. - I see Hive as a Digital Diary/ledger
2. Supporting Free speech and decentralization. - Hive has a good Origin Story
3. Investment Gain via a strong HIVE. -More Real Hivians -Onboarding Mentors
—Content Creation and Curation—
How Important is content creation and curation in Hive's marketing strategy?
- Content and curation is an essential piece of the puzzle. Quality content and quality engagement will always lead to an expanding user base. Clear, easy to use tools for finding quality posts on Hive will aid greatly.
What types of content should we focus on to attract and retain users?
-All content is valid. Writing, vlogging, blogging, micro blogging, photography, analysis, memes, podcasts, etc.
HIVE should think of itself like the Walmart of Decentralized Social Media, ‘1 stop shopping for all things social media’, Hive has an open invite to all types of creators to come and play with our community created tools, find the tools they like the best and join the discussion of how to make those tools even better.
Retaining quality creators will happen through engagment and support networks for noobs.
—Community Support And Development—
How can we better support community-driven projects and initiatives?
- allow projects to apply for small SOS initiatives. Ie, a community has a contest or a challenge idea, they can create a proposal requesting aide for prize money. A small portion of Value Plans budget could serve as an incubator for small initiatives and community drives.
- peer to peer onboarding mentorship program. Verified Hivians onboarding support network. A respected Hivian can submit a new onboarded user to receive a 1 year support and guidance trial. Both mentor and new Hivian create a feedback loop to collect data on any success or failure.
What recourses or tools do community members need to succeed?
- a search function that works
-easier onboarding tools
-more guidance for new users
-easier avenues to find high quality content
Hive Meetup starter kits
i think we should have the right to block an account from engaging with us, not to block the account from others, but if someone feels threatened, abused or trolled by another account, there should be a way to block that account from being able to engage with your personal account. I see this as a form of sovereignty over your account. This is not about banning or removing an account from Hive, it about the right to block an account from interacting with you directly.
(I’m aware of several men and women who have left the blockchain because they felt threatened. To succeed, Hive must develop tools to foster safety for all its users while simultaneously allowing all accounts to conduct themselves as they see fit. (Downvoting and Muting is not adequate)
Global Outreach
How can we expand Hive’s reach to new regions and demographics?
-Support for in person Hive meetups would help
- strategic partnerships with creators who have external influence.
-more hack-a-thons
-real world content contests, with real world prizes that can only be presented and claimed with Hive accounts.
Questions (help to plan for future)
What do you need hive for?
-Owning and earning from my publicly created data.
What is the main problem that Hive itself solves?
- Social Media asks us to share part of ourselves, Hive solves how to reward that sharing
What is the main Hive related challenge that you would like to see Value Plan solve? -Onboarding the right fit new users for hive and supporting those new users to discover and find Thrive on Hive.
What are the most successful promotional initiatives on Hive so far? Why?
-Splinterlands probably is most successful, because it was fun to play. (I’m not a gamer) Value Plan could allocate a portion of its budget to user and community created proposals. Giving small and short term budgets to exciting new ideas, community could be asked to vote on these proposals.
What promotional initiatives do you see doing well in 2025?
- internal to hive promotion and support of already existing communities and contests. Encourage communities to take contests out into local environments, create cross over contest with real prizes like gift certificates. Meet-up games and prizes. Peer to peer is most effective promotion.
Have you ever been to a real world Hive promotional event? What did you think?
- i have been to several Hivefests. Going to Hivefest has greatly increased my positivity about Hive.
Innovation and New Ideas
What innovative ideas or new projects would you like to see Hive explore in 2025?
-I’d like to see more smartphone apps. (PeakD)
-Any and all ways to create interoperability with Bitcoin will bring thrive to Hive.
- Trusted Hivians Onboarding Mentors Program
How can Hive leverage emerging tech??
- Humans are slowly losing humanity. AI will increase this loss. Real humans will crave environments where they can find other real humans. Hive should leverage verified humans. Create tools to find bots and AI accounts, clearly separating bot accounts from verified real human accounts will help Hive to thrive. Verified Human Accounts will make Hive a valuable resource in the Future.
Community Engagement
What type of Community Event or activities would you like to see more of?
-smaller regional hivefests, smaller grass roots hive meet-ups
How can we improve communication and collaborations within Hive?
-cross dapp and community contests
Educational Content
What educational resources or content would be most beneficial for new and existing Hive memebers?
- so much hive educational content has been created already, a better Hive search tool would solve most Q/A
How can we better support community members in learning about hive and its features?
- A Trusted Hivians Onboarding Mentors Program
User Experience
What improvements can be made to the Hive platform to enhance user experience?
-better Hive Search function
better and easier ways to find quality content.
a way to distinguish verified humans
Are there specific features or tools you feel are missing or could be improved?
- females and males have felt threatened by other user accounts. A tool for accounts to block a threatening account would benefit the chain. Sovereignty over who you allow to engage with you is a key way to foster a safe environment. (Muting is not enough)
Marketing and Outreach
What marketing strategies do you think would be most effective in attracting new users to Hive?
peer to peer, real world contests on Hive, in person meet-ups
find a crypto hub and send a team lay some roots. ie. A small team in Bitcoin beach Salvador, networking and pushing on the ground adoption.
How can we better showcase the benefits and unique aspects of Hive to a broader audience?
- A short documentary on the story of Hives growth in Venezuela, this could show case the human potential of Hive.
Partnerships and Collaborations
What types of partnerships or collaborations would you like to see Hive pursue? -I think a trial of mid level influencers in various niche areas being supported to pitch hive to their followers could be very effective and low cost.
How can we strengthen existing partnerships to maximize their impact?
-connecting with Hivians already with real world businesses, creating A HIVE BUSINESSES DAY
Sustainability and Growth
What strategies should Hive adopt to ensure long-term sustainability and growth?
- support quality creators, support quality engagers, support quality block chain builders
How can we balance growth with maintaining the core values and principles of Hive?
-slow and steady growth is key in my eyes, build a dedicated army of users
Business
How do traditional companies/organizations/NGO’s benefit from Hive?
- its possible to reward your clients for them joining hive and promoting your venue on hive and elsewhere.
How can HIVE/HBD become a global community currency? Would it benefit traditional organizations?
if Hive and HBD always has a bridge like V4V to spend lightning bitcoin, it will get discovered and utilized.
traditional business could see hive as another market to leverage, and hbd earning 15% is a safe savings vehicle for any busisness.
My Involvement
From this list, things i would be open to volunteer for…
represent for hive at event or conference
Act as a public speaker
Help with communication
be involved in spaces, town halls or chat
Help with organization
