Never a Gloomy Day at Black Sand !馃槑

Black Sand Beach Resort is the most interesting place I've ever heard about recently and probably the most unique one. Living in the Northern part of Cebu where we have a long stretch of fine white sand, the Black Sand really ring a bell! Kling! Kling! Kling! are the sound of my loud curiosity. Is the black sand for real? Or it's just a name? Whatever, I could hear it calling me!馃槑
So one holiday, not only that we wanted to check out this enthralling beach (as its name suggests), furthermore we were looking for a place to unwind, a place that is new to our eyes and most importantly a child friendly where our daughter can roam and run freely.
With our things packed lightly, we traveled going to Black Sand Beach Resort. So taraaa come and join us!
BLACK SAND BEACH RESORT
When we arrived and saw the parking area, half filled with vehicles, we knew by then that the place is good and is attracting a lot of beachgoers.
Nestled on the quiet and secluded coast of Catmon Cebu is a truly unique Beach Resort among the beaches in the North. The resort is sheltered and covered with tall Mangrove trees. And instead of the dirty mud beneath these trees (which is common in the North), its ground is covered with fine black sand!
The Black Sand beach resort has plenty of wonderful features and amenities. But what I love the most is the enchanting feeling it gives - a feeling of "forest and beach" combined.
Xab, my daughter, was the most excited and playful as soon as she set foot on the black sand. Together, we happily stroll and check the place like a kid checking his newly received toy!
The enchanting forest atmosphere and the rustic tables and benches.
As soon as we entered the place, we immediately see its forestry setting as we could see lush green ornamental plants on the arc's entrance. The husband and daughter went straight to the reception area for our accommodation. When everything was set we hurriedly went to its beachfront.
The mangroves and all the other trees are what greeted our eyes. It is evident that the trees are well-maintained and properly taken care of. They all look so clean and neat.
Another highlight of the forest atmosphere is the simply attractive, rustic tables and benches. One will surely feel relaxed while sitting and watching the view of the trees with the beach in its background.
And yes, the whole place has a cold breeze, with absolutely refreshing shades perfect for beachgoers who don't want to get sunburned and just take shelter from the trees while enjoying the beach.
Cabins in the woods-cottages
Other than the trees, another thing that made this beach resort a spectacular one is the huts and cottages it has. The wooden cottages and unique houses are made of wood which added the attraction and the natural feel of the resort.
There are cottages good for families and groups of friends (6-8pax)for a very affordable price.
And the pyramid shapes are good for couples. It must be very relaxing and peaceful sleeping in these cottages.
Another beach house that really caught my attention in the resort is the Pentagon house made of wood. I like to live in this kind of house as Im into wood designs.
One could also sleep in the hammock. Black Sand Beach resort is also open for campers.
Truth Revealed-Black or not Black?!
We almost forgot one of our reasons for coming here (was carried away by the whole atmosphere), which is to check the sand if it's really black, haha coz I haven't seen one in the countryside.
It's not black as I imagined, but it's grey and when wet by the seawater, it appeared black! The sea also appeared dark as it approaches the seashore.
The mangroves guarding the Beach Resort.
The beach
While following our daughter's lead. (yes we let her explore the place according to her will as long as it's safe for her), she brought us to the right side of the beach. I think toddlers could sense beautiful places (they are attracted to them) because this part of the resort is the spectacular beach of the resort.
It has a sandbar and the guests were enjoying their time on the beach!
Xab wanted to swim too! I held her and let her understand that we couldn't swim that day, instead we could play the rocks and the sand. Good thing she obeyed!
And so we build rock towers!
River's exit
I noticed that this part of the sea is the river's exit. I wonder if it has to do with the colors of the sand or if black is really the natural color of the sand in this area of Catmon. Might explore the neighboring beaches soon.
We enjoyed our quick escapade at Black Sand beach Resort and will definitely come to stay for a night. Hubby already asked about the room rates. 馃槈
