Splinterlands Campaign Mode: The Tutorial Splinterlands Needed!

Good morning friends!
I hope you're having a great day so far - I am back from vacation and I want to tell you about something NEW that @splinterlands has launched... and it is something we oh so desperately NEEDED!!!
Simply put, Campaign Mode is a Player vs Environment style Tutorial guided by some plucky and charismatic Characters aka "Professors" such as Headmaster Bimbelnok here 😄
Let's be real for a moment... The world of TCGs is a HIGHLY COMPETITIVE one... While it would be prudent to slowly dabble ones foot into a new realm... many high level TCG players simply APE IN to a new game, throw some cash at it and expect to use their skills and wits to fight their way to the top of the new game...
Which is totally doable... but... there are a lot of "New" players to the TCG realm who want to just try something out without spending five figures on a deck... in fact... the majority of the world can't do that... and games should be enjoyable at ALL LEVELS by EVERYONE - regardless of personal wealth... at least... that's my opinion 😌
Splinterlands has offered this throughout the years and is only getting better... in this iteration, New Players can start Playing, Earning AND Learning - the mechanics of the game and how each card works... from the very first few clicks!
Apologies... maybe I didn't explain that properly... Trading Card Games like Splinterlands, Magic: the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon... etc... are highly competitive...
Without a good tutorial, without showing people how the "Play2Earn" mechanics can work... you could get thousands of New Players to join Splinterlands... but if they jump STRAIGHT INTO THE FRAY... and get mauled by OGs, Vets and Bots... that's not fun now is it?
No, seriously - why do people play games? I mean... there has to be some sort of reason to do it... right?
Games need to be FUN. They should be challenging, entertaining, rewarding but most of all - this needs to equate in our brains as "Fun". Otherwise... why would we play?
With the new Campaign Mode, New Players (and the OGs) can play this PvE mode and in the process of learning a bit about Splinterlands and the world of Praetoria...
Upon completing each Chapter, they can earn a few Cards called "Foundation Cards" and also a bit of the In-Game Currency "Glint"... which can be used to purchase things from the Shop!
Ahh yes, you've made it through the Tutorial/Campaign Mode's "Book 1" (more to come!)...
You've earned a few cards, you understand what an Archon is, you have some Glint and want to add a few more cards to your collection...
That's awesome! You're going to need to do that if you hope to have any chance of playing and winning against even the lowliest of Bots 😅
So check this out... if you're a New Player... and you want to try out Splinterlands but don't want to spend a lot of $$$ before knowing if the game is even fun or not...
There is now a simple, easy to follow, fun to play, path... that will lead you from "What the heck is all this" to "Oh, I know a thing or three now... and... I can buy some cards... with my Tutorial Earnings??"
Yup - that's right... check out the Common Draw option! It's only 150 Glint per Draw (Card)! But how do we do that??? That's easy!!
At this point - if you're BRAND NEW to Splinterlands... you probably don't have any potions... but as you can see, if you check the box, it will use an Alchemy Potion to DOUBLE your chances of getting a Gold Foil version of the Card you're about to Draw...
Since I am going to show you, as if I were brand new... I am going to uncheck the box and let it roll the Card up, with the standard 2% chance to be a Gold Foil (GF) version...
Sweet! For 150 of our Glint, we got a Nimbledook Explorer!! These are hardy little Gnomes that add +2 Armor to your whole crew with the "Protect" Ability!!
This is very useful at the Lower Levels and at Higher Levels (when you combine a certain number of Cards) they will also gain some other key Abilities such as...
Heal: if you can't guess what this ability is... 😅😅😅
Armored Strike: Armored Strike is a cool Ability where instead of Attacking with the "Blade" Icon for Melee... Armored Strike allows the Card to "Attack" using it's "Armor Value" aka "Shield Icon".
As you can see - the more of these you combine, the better the Stats are! If you combine 60 of these cards, you will get 1 Level 5 Nimbledook Explorer...
At Level 1: 4 Mana, 2 Speed, 1 Armor, 2 Health + "Protect"
At Level 5: 4 Mana, 2 Speed, 2 Armor, 5 Health + "Protect" & "Armored Strike"!
At Level 10: 4 Mana, 2 Speed, 4 Armor, 7 Health + "Protect", "Armored Strike" & "Heal"!
This card is a VERY USEFUL card at almost every level!! Trust me on that one!
There wasn't much of a "Tutorial"... it was just "BUY THESE CARDS AND COME GET REKT YA SCRUB!!!"
Which is fine for the salty TCG vet like myself... but for others... the larger group of people who want to try out a TCG like this before diving in wallet first...
Tutorials like these are phenomenal!! It helps people progress and understand how to play the game, buy the cards to grow their collection and set them up for success!!
I am excited to share this post with my friends on Facebook and X because there is now an easy way to learn how to play Splinterlands... and it won't cost you anything!!

Naturally, after everything leading up to this moment, I believe Splinterlands is one of the BEST web3 games out there!
