Sober October Complete

Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to celebrate #beersaturday and what better way than completing a personal challenge such as Sober October!

Sober October Complete
Going into the month of September, I knew I wanted to undertake some personal health challenges to see if I could handle it. One of them was sweet-free September and the other one was Sober October.
I didn't do as good with sweet-free September as I did with Sober October but that's okay! I know that I need to work on some things when it comes to my intake of sweets but I am wicked proud of how I did with Sober October! I went the entire month of October, up until Halloween night, without taking a single sip of any type of alcoholic beverage! I do occasionally drink Kombucha, but that is not for any type of relaxation that is associated with alcohol lol
What better way to celebrate the end of a month such as Sober October with a #BeerSaturday?! I know I certainly enjoyed it!
Even better, the little man and I went indoor rock climbing the other day and we went to the spot that has a brewery quite literally next door.. in the same building. We walk 5 feet out of the door for the rock gym and we get into the door of the brewery lol pretty good positioning if I do say so myself!
The brewery has some pretty cool different beers this time. The last time I was here they were transitioning from spring to summer brews and they were certainly good but there wasn't exactly a lot of variety. This time though, there was a pretty significant amount of variety which I enjoyed! This one here was a Hefeweizen style beer, which I have certainly drank in the past and enjoyed because it's one of those "drinking beers" where you can drink a few of them in an afternoon and not feel like death. They are a nice relaxed beer, seemingly of German origin at least by the sound of the name.
The beer was great! It was incredibly smooth and had the right amount of hops and all that good stuff to go down. I noticed a difference between this style and the typical IPA that I enjoy drinking. This one is much more of a "drinking" beer than it is anything else. There isn't a lot of jazzy shit to it which is enjoyable and definitely okay with me. You get a good beer, some pretty good flavor and a bit of strength to it at 5.5% alcohol. I think this was a pretty good way to get a little bit of alcohol under my belt after an entire month of sobriety. Typing this post up here, I feel the beer much more than I would have a month or two ago, when I build up a little bit of a tolerance to the alcohol.
I certainly don't drink to get drunk, but more so to get a little bit of a buzz and mind alteration without risking something worse. It's a little bit of an adjustment to reality where it helps us deal with the stresses of the day but not so bad that you can't think straight or do something serious if the situation warrants it.
I will be posting another beer or two in the coming weeks! I bought myself a 6 pack and will slowly drink it over time, easing myself into it. I know that I could certainly drink 2 in a night but that's too intense after completing Sober October. My tolerance is down but I am also enjoying the flavors of the different beers put out by the brewery!
