Not So Busy, But Full Week

Well, hello there Silvers and Hivers! Been a couple days, but I am still here and kickin'. I could say that the last few days have been rather busy, but they have not. I;ve stayed occupied, but not busy.

Most of my free time was spent on a personal project being worked on that I do not care to share here on Hive, but it did take up a good amount of time and was very productive. One thing this new projecct is allowing me to do is meet new people along the way. This is prompting me to get back into the swing of things professionally.

I tried this once before when I started feeling good, but my physical health went south and had to abandon the effort. This time the approach is different and slow, so we will see how it ends up over time.

Anyway, that took up a lot of my time and brain power this week.

Then there was the dreaded appointment to the eye doctor. The last time I seen this one I had a retinal detachment which I had posted about last year. Needless to say I was nervous because the eye that had the surgery had been irritating me. However, it all ended up being just fine. Doctor said my eyes were good, just a little dry and irritated from the dryness. Nothing some eye drops won't fix.

Friday the old Marine friend of mine and I delivered more boxes for the Toys for Tots program. We had a good time and enjoyed each others company. Even had a half-way decent lunch at a chain restaurant.

Yesterday I was finally able to take my Technician exam to get my radio operator license from the FCC. I passed and now just have to wait for it to appear in the FCC database before I can operate. With the government shiutdown here in the States, who knows when that will be. When they do open, I am sure they will be back logged, so it may take some time to process.

Already, I have the study guide to get my General class operator license and plan to take it around Febuary or March. I will also simitanously be studying for my CGEIT exam. So lots of nose to the grindstone studying going on in the near future.

The one thing this week that did not get done was the seeding of the bare spots in the yard. It will now have to wait for the spring as it is too late into the fall for it now. The first frost could come any day and that is not good for the seeding from what I understand. We will be filling holes in the backyard that the dog has dig though. No need to wait on that.

On the dog note, Lilly, although small, is a strong dog. Took her for her first walk the other day and she damn near pulled me down. She wanted to chase all the squirells and chipmunks we saw. She pulled so hard o nthe walk that she constantly choked herself on the collar. We will be buying her a harness for future walks. Until then, the walks with her with have to be on hold.

Supposedly. from what I have read, she is digging those holes in the yard because of boredom. So the walks should do her, me, and our yard some good.

Well, that is it for now. Hope all are having a great weekend and have a great week ahead.

Thanks for reading,
Joe
