Hello, Hivers! It’s me, Doughnah, and I’m back with another blog series. Today, I’m excited to share a little escape and have dinner we took with some of my amazing co-workers. Even though it was a while we are still having fun and enjoying it. It was a very spectacular trip that was very full of laughter, even though it was in our way, exploration of a new place, and very unforgettable moments that we encountered/created.

After finishing our shift at 3 PM, we headed directly to the destination where we planned to have our dinner. First, we rode a modern jeepney bound for Pacific Mall to meet one of our co-worker, she had just come from Banilad because it was her day off, so we planned that we would meet at Pacific Mall, so it was more convenient to meet her there instead of her going to the office. From Pacific Mall, we planned to continue on to Cordova together. We arrived first at Pacific Mall and by that time, she had been stuck in traffic for almost an hour. We considered booking a Grab while waiting, but just as the ride was about to arrive, she finally came so we stayed together and didn’t leave her behind.

After the Grab arrived, we set off for Cordova. Our driver was extremely talkative, sharing stories and chatting all the way. While approaching a curve, we suddenly witnessed a collision between two or three jeepneys. I think it was a Jeep vs. Jeep accident. The first jeep appeared to have lost control on the wet road, skidding and crashing into another. Immediately, we pulled over to the roadside, remaining cautious but trying to understand what happened. As we passed the scene of a jeepney accident, our own ride experienced a minor collision our sedan was lightly scratched. The van that caused the damage attempted to drive off, so our driver immediately followed it. Concerned by the scratch on our sedan, he pursued the van, and they eventually pulled over to the roadside, and after the van stopped by, both parties stayed at the side of the road to talk and settle the matter. Shortly afterward, the police arrived and the process of documenting and exchanging information began. The police interview them, and they are settled, so they don't have the blotter anymore. We didn't leave Kuya Driver behind because we were his passengers when the accident happened. It felt normal to stay by his side throughout. After both parties had settled the matter already at the roadside, we immediately resumed our journey towards Cordova. In the road, we couldn’t stop talking about what was happening, analyzing the accident, sharing some of our observations, and reflecting on how it had all unfolded.

After a few hours of us on the road, we finally arrived safely in Cordova right where we were planning to have our dinner. It was a little bit of a long and tiring trip, but after reaching our destination, it made it all there very worth it at all. We want to give a very big thanks to our kuya driver who really made sure we got there good and safely because he assured that we were all doing good. Despite the very unexpected things we have been going through all along the way to our destination, like the traffic, the slight road conditions that we can't predict, and sudden detours/unexpected accidents, he still manages it very calmly and he is still very focused on the road and entertaining us. Thank you so much, Kuya, and because of it, we were able to arrive at our destination safely and soundly. The moments like that we've been through to our destination reminded us to still be grateful in all, not only just for the fancy and our destination, but also of our journey that we are safe and loud and to the people who took us there and helped us go through it.

That’s all for now my dear Hivers! I’ll be continuing the story in my next blog, where I’ll be sharing with you all more about our destination and the place where we are very much enjoying our meal. Stay tuned on it, and I can’t wait to take you all along with me into the next part of this little adventure of ours with my co-workers.
