The Race Against Time.

Since I was little, I have always been forgetting things, and my mom has always been angry about it. I could just forget I was meant to be somewhere and go somewhere else; this is why I have added every important person's birthday to my calendar. People I met along the journey of life, after celebrating their birthday, I would just go to my calendar and be like, "April 24, Itunu's Birthday. Remind me forever," then set it like that. The funny thing is that a lot of people remember my birthday, but I have even forgotten, unless it's getting so close to the date, then someone reminds me. I don't know if this is because of my nonchalant nature, but it is not something I am proud of.
I wonder what will happen when my wife gets all dressed and asks me, "Hope you remember what's happening today," and I just stare dead right at her, not remembering why she's looking so gorgeous, and I am in my shorts and T-shirt.
This week's prompt from Hivelearners we were asked to talk about a time we skipped or forgot to do something important and the effect it has on us.
As a student in my country, there is something that's very important to you during the exam period and this is the exam pass. This exam pass is what you would use to get into the exam hall and get your exam done. With the kind of lecturers and supervisors we have, you dare not forget your exam pass the day you are having exam.
On this faithful day, I had prepare well for the exam. The exam was set for 12 pm in the noon.
I have gotten my pen,r, and everything needed for me to get my exam done. I literally checked to see if I wasn't forgetting anything and trust me, I wasn't. I got to school 30 minutes before the exam, met with my friends and we were doing some revisions of the exam we were meant to have.
10 minutes to the exam, the supervisors came, and the exam coordinator came to inspect the hall. I saw everyone bringing out their exam pass because without that exam pass, you can't go into the exam hall. Biro, checked. Ruler, checked. Every other thing is checked but why can't I find my exam pass? I started sweating and it wasn't funny.
It was at that moment I knew I 4cup. Luckily for me, I had a friend who owned a bike. I spoke to him about what's happening. "I think I forgot my exam pass at home," I said with a teary face. He offered to drive me home and I have never been so bold on a speedy bike all my life. "Accelerate it more, let's go," was all I was screaming on the bike, busy with moving cars and trucks. I got home and I found it right on my table. I picked it up and with the same speed, we drove back to the school.
When we got to the exam hall, not everyone had entered because the supervisor was checking each pass one by one. I got on the line with my friend and that's how I was able to do my exam.
