"Flowers on Stairs" Festival

Flowers are something that should never be missing from anyone's life, no matter the form they come in and no matter if we are talking about men or women. I don't know where the whole thing that only women are supposed to receive or grow up plants started, but personally, I think these have the power to change both visually and spiritually a place, as well as contribute on the mental well being of those having them around.
Frankly speaking, I discovered this passion and need in my life quite late since I received my first flower pot when I was 22 years old, this happening after many years since my mom kept saying that both I and my sister should add some flowers to the place where we are currently living. The reason it took so long is not because I didn't like these but because I am a very affectionate person and I was always scared not being able to take care of these because it would cause a lot of pain seeing flowers die because of me.
But time passed and I started both receiving and buying flowers more often, and today I can call myself a proud mom of no less than 35 plants which collection I intend to extend as soon as I find a new spot where to add some more.
Happily, along with this need that slowly turned into a passion, in Romania are hosted once in a while all kind of fairs with flowers as the main theme, but also a festival which had its first edition in 2022 but which I absolutely loved the experience and counted down the days until the edition from 2023. I will leave the first edition linked
in case you are interested to make a comparision between the two or see how everything evolved in just a couple of months.

The name of the festival was given straight to the point not making a step away from representing it perfectly from the first steps made on the way to Piața Aurarilor which even though is a region located in the center of the city that is always full of tourists, being in a more isolate passage very few people actually get interest in discovering it.
This also represented the main reason of hosting a festival in this place that would attract curious eyes and make it a bit more popular than it was, but it turned into a successful and well needed festival even from its first edition.

Along with the flowers placed on the stairs that would be impossible to see missing, the festival is a lot more than that, talking about various stalls where people can buy or exchange flowers, but also flowers represented in other forms since they can be felt in a lot more ways than we realize.
Some examples would be the handmade jewelry using natural parts of flowers to those made from a different material but which still kept flowers as the main theme. The same attitude is used for bookmarks, vessels, framed drawings, and God knows what else since art have no boundaries in general.

Even though flowers are what made me fall in love quickly with the festival, the main reason that convinced me to return was the level of authenticity and creativity that managed to reach new limits in just a couple of months since the last edition, which proved how dedicated the organisers are, taking care not to have too many elements repeated from an edition to another. Actually the single elements that were repeated were some more common species of plants but which most likely everyone has or wants to have in their houses.
And like if there it wasn't enough color already naturally painted by the flowers, there were placed all kinds of decorations being made almost entirely from flowers that shared different perspectives to those passing by, also sharing the feeling of visiting an open-air natural museum which is an emotion that conquered my heart even more.

While very few decorations had more than just a title and the name of the artist, most of them offered free thoughts to those who were trying to discover the story behind the work which quickly turned into a game that I happily enjoyed every moment of, starting with the old looking computer that blooms, to the parrot also present in the
but which this time was flying like it discovered the freedom in the meantime. Some other decorations that caught my attention were the lady wearing a costume entirely made of flowers presenting a different kind of fashion, but also the man having flowers coming out of his head which quickly remembered me about The Last of Us series that was in vogue in april when the festival was held, but which showed a happier perspective as how people would be contaminated with flower rather than an infection that turns them into zombies.

The funny thing is that even though the first edition of Flowers on Stairs Festival was held in September 2022 and the 2nd one in April 2023, still in 2023 but in autumn there was organized a 3rd edition of the festival as a thank you from the organizers who were very happy with the success of the event and how the place became visibly more populated both during the festival and on a normal day.
Unfortunately, I was out of the town when the 3rd edition was held since I was celebrating my birthday on that weekend (because this festival lasts for 3 days during the weekend), but I can't wait for the next edition especially since there are rumors to have the whole festival extended on a bigger surface than it was so far. Which means... more flowers and colorful moments!
