Namaste! Greetings to all friends and the community! And happy Navratri to all. The powerful festival of Navratri begins today, filling the atmosphere all over India with spiritual energy and excitement. Everyone is ready to celebrate this festival dedicated to Maa Shakti (Durga, or Parvati). the embodiment of power. Navratri is an energetic and sacred festival focused on experiencing the divine and awakening to the significance of these nine days/nights
Maa Shakti or Maa Durga is represented during the Navratri festival, which is celebrated in various ways across different regions and states in India. The primary focus is the worship of Goddess Shakti. This celebration is an opportunity to understand the different forms of Shakti Mata over these nine days.
Navratri (the nine divine nights of Navadurga) is a celebration of nine forms of Maa Shakti Durga, or Maa Parvati.
Shailaputri, a form of the Hindu mother goddess Mahadevi, is goddess Parvati. She is the first Navadurga venerated during the first day, and is a reincarnation of Goddess Sati(wife of Lord Shiva). Goddess Shailaputri (Parvati) is the daughter of the Mountain King Himavat. Manifestation with a crescent moon on her forehead. She holds a trident and a lotus flower in her hands. She rides on Nandi, the bull.
She represents divine strength, purity, and spiritual awakening. Honoring her on the opening day of Navratri establishes a sacred rhythm that promotes inner growth, career clarity, family harmony, and emotional resilience. She represents the nurturing and grounding aspects of nature. Her connection to the mountains signifies strength and endurance, while the lotus she holds symbolizes purity and devotion. Worshipping her is believed to bring stability and grounding in one’s life.
