It's a lovely Tuesday, yay! A little bit of breeze, sunshine, and drizzle - it's like having different seasons today. What more could we ask for? It's good! And because we're just home, the husband had been playing some tunes in the morning, and one of them piqued my curiosity. The title intrigued me, and I had to dig a bit more into it.

A quick search led me to a YouTube channel called Rosé, a multi-awarded Korean-NZ singer and a former member of the band Blackpink. But before further introduction, let's listen to the catchy pop-punk song first:

Rosé & Bruno Mars - Apt

This is quite a banger (playful) song, noh? One couldn't help but chant along, especially the chorus. But yes, it has a fun melody and tempo, plus the different elements in it - pop, rock, punk, rap, etc. I couldn't help dancing to the tunes (albeit only in my mind, lol!)

Accordingly, it was inspired by a game called Apartment, and I quote:

'APT' is actually my favourite Korean drinking game that I play with my friends back home. It's so simple, puts a smile on your face, and breaks the ice at any party. One night in the studio, I taught my crew how to play the game. Everyone was fascinated, especially when I started the chant, so we played around with it, and I said we should make a song out of it... and after Bruno joined the track, the rest became history!(src)

The song was Rosé's first single after leaving her former record labels. The song topped various charts in different countries, winning several awards and nominations. It became the longest-running number-one song of 2024, and both singers' second number-one hit song.

There's no doubt the song is quite popular. Anyway, here's the second tune for the day:

Rosé - Toxic Till The End

Released in December 2024 as her third single, this earned Rosé a Guinness World Record as the highest-charting female K-pop artist on the Billboard 200 charts.

Interestingly, the song was "musically likened to Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift, especially in comparison to the latter's melodic structures and songwriting narratives."(src) I do think they have similarities.

Accordingly, the song's original title was "Ex," inspired by Rosé's former lover.

And the third tune I've chosen for today:

Rosé - Messy

Her new song, a pop ballad which was released just three weeks ago, is one of the soundtracks for the F1 movie. Well, I read some of her fans described her vocals as luxurious and unforgettable, even nicknaming her "the golden voice." Although I'm no longer a teen, I do like her too. She has a distinct K-pop voice. No doubt we'd be playing Apt now and then.

And there ends my lil discovery for the Three Tune Tuesday initiative by Ablaze. Have a terrific Tuesday, frens! Hope you enjoyed these too.
