Here is a prompt:

*The cat had been missing for weeks, but tonight it returned—wearing a crown. *

To begin, I’ll tell you a little about Maurice and how we met him.

Our cat Maurice appeared in our lives by accident. In fact, we hesitated for a long time before agreeing to let him stay with us. First of all, because we’ve always been more cynophiles than ailurophiles. Second, we were planning to move to a new city, to a new home. But Maurice came to our house every day and sat on the doorstep. He didn’t look like a stray cat—rather, he seemed very much like someone’s pet, possibly even a well-cared-for cat. We tried not to feed him so he wouldn’t get too attached, and besides, our neighbors were already actively trying to adopt him. But every day, the cat returned to our doorstep.

Then the time for our move finally came. Despite everything, before we left, we put out some treats for Maurice and asked the neighbors to keep an eye on him.

Our new city was 3,000 kilometers away. The road was very long. Everyone was tired, but at the same time, full of excitement and anticipation of something new awaiting us in a new place.

After two days, we finally drove up to the doorstep of our new home! We were eager to get inside and take a look, as we had only seen the house in photos before. When we got out of the car, we noticed something small and black standing near our door. It was already evening, so it was hard to make out from a distance. We came closer—and to our shock, we realized it was a cat. And not just any cat, but our Maurice! But how did he find us? And how did he arrive before we did?!
