Weekend of the advertising design industry

Return to Venezuela's musical capital, the event that brings together the best of the graphic arts industry. For three days, the second edition of the Graphic Arts, Advertising, and Media Exhibition was held in the city of Barquisimeto.

The first edition in that city was held last year and was so successful that the organizers decided to repeat the event in 2025. The venue chosen was the same as last year: the facilities of the Hotel Trinitarias Suites.

Regreso a la capital musical de Venezuela, el evento que reúne lo mejor de la industria de las artes gráficas. Durante tres días, se celebró en la ciudad de Barquisimeto la segunda edición de la Exposición de Artes Gráficas, Publicidad y Medios.

La primera edición en esa ciudad se celebró el año pasado y tuvo tanto éxito que en 2025 los organizadores decidieron repetir el evento. El lugar elegido fue el mismo que el año pasado: las instalaciones del Hotel Trinitarias Suites.

Like all events held there, it was flawless. Being a graphic arts event, it was very colorful and visually appealing. The hotel rooms were perfect for accommodating the exhibitors. The food fair was located in the upper level of the shopping center parking lot for those who wanted to grab a bite to eat.

Many of the exhibiting companies came from the city of Caracas and offered their products, mostly impressive plotters for creating posters and giant billboards. Any graphic designer would undoubtedly enjoy this event. One of the companies from the capital occupied a large space and had brought a lot of equipment. They had made a significant investment to be present. There was equipment that cost more than ten thousand dollars.

Como todos los eventos que se celebran allí, fue impecable. Al tratarse de un evento de artes gráficas, fue muy colorido y atractivo a la vista. Los salones del hotel fueron perfectos para colocar a los expositores. La feria gastronómica se ubicó en la zona superior del aparcamiento del centro comercial para aquellos que quisieran comer algo.

Muchas de las empresas expositoras procedían de la ciudad de Caracas y ofrecían sus productos, en su mayoría impresionantes plóteres para crear carteles y vallas publicitarias gigantes. Cualquier diseñador gráfico disfrutaría sin duda de este evento. Una de las empresas de la capital ocupaba un gran espacio y había traído mucho equipo. Habían realizado una importante inversión para estar presentes. Había equipos que costaban más de diez mil dólares.

Although everything was very good, I liked last year's event better. One drawback I noticed during the weekend was that the aisles between the exhibitors were too narrow and there were large crowds. That made me feel very uncomfortable. I also noticed that there were more brands and companies last year. The latter may be due to the economic situation.

Admission was free. You had to register on the exhibition website, fill in some details, and they would send you a QR code, which you scanned at the registration area. Many events of this type do this to maintain their database by collecting visitor information.

The Colao company had a stand in an area designed for conversation and enjoying the atmosphere. They offered coffee for tasting, and I stopped there to rest for a while and chat with a friend I ran into.

Aunque todo estaba muy bien, me gustó más el del año pasado. Una pega que noté durante el fin de semana fue que los pasillos entre los expositores eran demasiado estrechos y había una gran afluencia de gente. Eso me hizo sentir muy incómodo. También noté que el año pasado había más marcas y empresas. Esto último puede deberse a la situación económica.

La entrada era gratuita. Había que registrarse en la página web de la exposición, rellenar algunos datos y te enviaban un código QR, que se escaneaba en la zona de registro. Muchos eventos de este tipo lo hacen para mantener la base de datos recopilando información de los visitantes.

La empresa Colao tenía un stand en una zona diseñada para conversar y disfrutar del ambiente. Ofrecían café para degustar, y me detuve allí para descansar un rato y charlar con un amigo con el que me encontré.

I only attended on the first day, Friday. It was enough time to see the entire exhibition, visit all the companies, and take photographs. The next day I had to attend another event very close by.

I imagine that on Saturday and Sunday there were more people and that there were different talks throughout the day. I was able to attend one on sales techniques on Instagram. Many graphic design, advertising, and marketing students attended the talks. The most popular one was related to artificial intelligence. It was so well attended that they decided to repeat it the next day for those who couldn't attend the first time.

En la parte final, se les asignaron las bandas con los municipios que cada una representaría en el concurso. Crespo, Iribarren, Palavenico, Moran, etc. Se llamó a cada una y se le entregó su banda. Solo asistí el primer día, el viernes. Fue tiempo suficiente para ver toda la exposición, visitar todas las empresas y tomar fotografías. Al día siguiente tenía que asistir a otro evento muy cerca.

Imagino que el sábado y el domingo hubo más gente y que hubo diferentes charlas a lo largo del día. Pude asistir a una sobre técnicas de venta en Instagram. Muchos estudiantes de diseño gráfico, publicidad y marketing asistieron a las charlas. La más popular fue la relacionada con la inteligencia artificial. Tuvo tanta asistencia que decidieron repetirla al día siguiente para aquellos que no pudieron asistir la primera vez.
