''Harmony between a good rock band, a surf movement among surfers, artists and lovers and a lot of good vibes to add and cooperate with the idea, were the points that structured the event held last weekend in southeastern Brazil, in State of Espírito Santo, Vitória.''

Yo. Ciao Ciao Surfhive!!! All good comunity?

Last weekend, on 11/10, I had the pleasure of holding an event in partnership with some friends, and I would like to share it with all you guys :)

We decided to do the California Way the week before, so we had less than 1 full week to organize everything and do it in the best way for everyone's experience. And of course, as nothing big or at least real is created suddenly or alone, a lot of cool people helped make this possible.

The event was organized by Airdrop Culture, in partnership with a new space #brizz, which is located in front of an old surf wave explored by native communities, under the large bridge that connects Vitória and Vitória Velha, called Hawaizinho, with the release of the album "SICK DROP" by the instrumental surf trash band, #intoxicos. Yes, it was indeed a combination of people with connections to each other.

I really recommend

this ancient, modern genealogy of surf music. It's been a while since I enjoyed a night event like this here in Brazil. In addition to the classic progressive surf melodies, they had a complete repertoire with songs like "Sleep Walk", "Lets go Surf" and more. Amazing.

So, these 3 crazy intoxicating comrades, and "vovo"(grandpa) arriving with his harmonica making everything goosebumps, played a fundamental role in leaving everyone with their bones swaying to a 100% surf rhythm.

Audiovisual system

It is always very interesting to be in a space where the sound, what the screen presents, and its positioning are studied so that those who watch and experience it have the best immersion.

When the event began to form, leaving the plane of ideas, we already gathered a sequence of surfing content, art, animations from Airdrop Culture, as well as important surfers and artists.

We reproduced this entire compilation on a huge wall facing the Amphitheater, a space to experience the brizz, there people were immersed in this vibe because the architecture and design of the amphitheater provide this. The DJs, presenters, and the band Intoxico looked great with all this dynamic content generated in the background.

These were some videos that played on loop throughout the event, and in fact had a great impact on the audience, even more so when the Banda Intoxicos' solos, or the vinyl remix by Dj Mr Dedus fit perfectly into the image of some tube on the bench. of Bin Laden for example.

Other mind-blowing images from other partners, such as @preciousplastes appeared there.

We also took a sequence of products that we had in stock for display and sale, such as winter weight ponchos, eco-limestone neoprene jackets, asymmetrical boards, and our newsprint prints of the KOA mascot, and event banner.

Busatox ready for the vibe.

It is very important for the art scene, culture linked to sport, sustainability to be warm and physically present or united.

Seeing all the friends and people who vibrate and root for something similar is hopeful. Especially in Brazil, where it is a very large territory, so there is a great diversity of movements from national to global, making it necessary to impact in one way or another a certain number of people united in the same place.

California Way

This is an old project that was carried out at least 6 years later, in a super spontaneous way. The truth is that both the calligraphy of the California Way and the planning of the event had already been created years before, under the influence of Joao Lirio, Mr Dedus and other friends, but it was only now, practically at the turn of the year, that the ideal moment presented itself. to execute the idea.

Nature does not rush however, everything is accomplished.

We are from Brazil, we firmly represent our culture in different aspects, but the party and the California way movement comes as a study of the first underground movements of the Surf/Skate scene with the Z-boys, Jay Boy Adams crew, like everything that happened at that time in California... and even the following years, with the creation of more evolved boards like the fish, leading to asymmetrical ones... the energy, potential and importance that California has in the construction of the skateboarding, surfing, music, art, the spontaneity of life is immensely important, and that's where this whole theme came from.

Another very interesting point at this party was the surprise presence of friends I hadn't seen in a long time, such as Keone Ferreira, Krystian Kymerson, @betochalaca and several others who attended the event and cheered along through the heavy and progressive riffs of the intoxicants.

Now that it has become a reality, it is only a matter of time for other editions to take place with California Way, and for them to be increasingly beautiful and organized for everyone to enjoy in the best possible way.

I hope you enjoyed reading and enjoying this blog material about the California Way event held by Airdrop Culture in favor of a hotter and more united surfing movement! Good vibes yes. And thank you to everyone who attended the event as well as everyone who is here consuming this material. Aloha
