Let's Get Lost At Mangrove Forest: Victoria, San Remegio, Cebu

Sometimes we let ourselves get lost in the wilderness once in a while and let ourselves discover the majestic paradise of the lush vegetation of Mangrove Forest!. The serene and green view makes one refreshed and thinks best when we're surrounded by this fulfilling view.

It was a lovely morning on Sunday when we were invited to be godparents to one of my husband's friends. His friend live with his wife's residence in San Remegio so, from our residence, we directly went to the Catholic church where the baby was baptized. Even though we are not Catholic, still we managed to be there as a support to his friend. I got excited for two reasons, first, my goddaughter has been added. Second, San Remegio is known for its beautiful and scenic view of the sea so this would be a great day.

After the baptism, we went straight to their reception. A few moments later from travel, I felt odd since we're already away from civilization and I can't see the sea anymore! Which was one of my reasons for coming here. Their house is located in Victoria, but we have to go through a rough road which was recently dumped a large amount of limestone. They are away from their neighbors and as I gaze left and right, I see no house!

Burp! Oh, we're done eating!

I get bored when I was waiting for my husband since they're in a drinking session, so to lighten my mood. I wandered along the bulldozed limestone and let's see what's waiting for us there!

According to my Kumare, this is the new project of a certain developer and a new resort will rise soon. It's a very hot noon, still, I wanted to go further into what lies ahead of me.

There are coconut trees already been here for many years and others were just a few years younger. There is a lone cottage and I think a person just left because I saw slippers on the ground. Roaming around but I see no person at all.

Behind those beautiful entrances is not what I'm expecting! I hurriedly went near!

Behold... The Majestic Forest of Mangrove!

The healthy and green leaves are what I saw first! This is my first time to witness this kind of dense vegetation of mangroves in the place. I usually encounter such creation in just a small amount of it but now is a forest! I can't contain the happiness I felt as I discovered this so am not expecting this.

As I go further, I already felt saddened yet happy. Sad due to people who didn't take care this one of a kind nature. Someone who has a futuristic concept and would improve this place.

This wide range area of mangroves is nestled in Victoria, San Remegio, and Cebu. This place has been growing its community size and is ready to conquer a bigger one.

Mangroves play a big part in the sea as they protect people from a certain tidal wave or any kind of calamity near the shore. It serves as a shelter for thousands of animal creatures. Its strong and sturdy branches and roots seem nothing can beat it. As I tried to pull one, it was indeed hard to tear off.

Other trees of mangroves have already moss in the sea. Some were cut and others were I think because of tragedy in the sea.

I never thought that there are watercraft in this area and a little guard here. Here local, the dog is our best friend since it is loyal and can be trusted. Here, the dog guarded the man's boat since the master is away. I tried to go near to the boat to see its reaction, seems it also trusts me since I didn't do something, just picture taking☺️.

There are parts of the forest where the ground is covered with sprouts of mangroves. I was taking extra careful as the sprouts are hard and can hit my slippers directly to my toes. Many times I stumbled to the sprouts however this can't stop me and looking forward to what am I stepping to.

It's also satisfying sometimes when we're alone because we tend to talk to ourselves and find peace in seeing beautiful views even on a hot afternoon. I may be alone but not lonely as I'm
by amazed the presence of those creatures found in the swamp amidst the forest. I can't catch it on my camera as it swims fastly.

Also, people living here must be blessed. Why? Because of the abundance of nature. They may have a province life on the left while enjoying the beach life in a mangrove forest on the right. This must be impossible but possible!

The sea has unclear water and I think not ideal to swim today. However other areas have clear and cold water in the middle of the forest. This must be a great swim. If only I had extra clothes I may swim and find myself enjoying the water.

Getting lost for a while because you're savoring the moment with yourself is a need. I'm not lost in this travel but I let myself lost in the forest to find myself discovering and creating connections to nature in the sea. We have to preserve this kind of forest here in our local.
