The Fundamental Difference

There's been a lot of talk about #web3 over the past few years in the crypto space...
For good reason too. It's like this utopian society we all dream of, especially if we've ever been a part of social media and or building online brands. The thought of 'no controlling power' is tempting. Decentralization etc. These have all sadly been buzz words because everyone seems to miss the core component of web3...True web 3 for that matter.
Obviously I'm talking about community, but let's wheel this back and dissect it.
You see the shills on traditional social media, parading their 'community' as king. But it's usually because they want their bags to grow. Strip away the layers of the onion and you end up seeing zero decentralization, and a horrible user experience that costs a lot in gas fees to use.
That at it's core, gives me red flags when it comes to any blockchain or project I want to attach myself to. If it's expensive to use, and has a horrible user experience...I don't and can't get past that.
But let's say I do bite the bullet, and find something with a great user experience and super cheap to 'use'. When then seem to get flooded with heavy users of the platforms and chain with egos that ruin it for everyone else trying to get some crumbs from the table.
Then you find something like...
InLEO and the $LEO community
Now here's a spoiler alert, LEO and the entire eco-system is so much more than #web3 In fact, I would say that it's just a sliver of what it offers. But it does with so much more potential than anything else out there.
And disclaimer, I'm a fan boy of $LEO and have been literally since it started.
But here's the LEO difference, at least from my point of view.
When this thing started, it was @leofinance
And that turned me off a bit because, well, finance is obviously not my strong suit. I would read the blogs, and get confused from all the trading talk and economic talk coming from these extremely smart creators. So I didn't feel like I had a home at first...
But then the content started becoming, much more broad. While still keeping it's DNA within the finance world, it didn't make you feel like an alien if you didn't know what a 'Bollinger band' was. After spending some time, and interacting with some of the whales in the platform, I could see a difference on how they operated.
At the end of the day, they actually wanted to see everyone in $LEO succeed. There was no ego. They would engage with everyone, no matter how much $LEO you held, and heck even one of them (@taskmaster4450le) decided to give this guy a chance, and started a fun little podcast for a few years.
The fundamental difference between every other 'web 3' project out there and $LEO was....The people! The actual community.
And that's where I think so many platforms and projects get it wrong. No matter what happened, good or bad (and there was plenty of bad on LEO and trails we all overcame), Lions never forgot that other Lions matter!
Actual. Real. Community.
I think that's why I believed in LEO so much and why I have always thought Khal was the perfect leader of this community. He's a genuine dude, that honest to goodness, wants to see everyone win. There's no other explanation for his consistency over the years.
And for that matter...All Lions. Every single one that has made this project what it is. Innovative and inevitable.
I use that word because some are gasping and in shock that $LEO is doing what it has on the markets over the past few months. I know a bunch of us aren't surprised at all. We knew this was coming. It was inevitable.
And I truly believe because community is KING here.....It's just getting started!
(Note:* As always 5% of the beneficiary rewards from this post goes to @leofinance and @leostrategy but I always need to shout out a Lion that has been here through thick and thin. She's one of the most dedicated creators on Threads and the community is better with @luchyl around daily. 5% is headed her way as well!)*
