Hello Worldmappin fam 馃槉 Let me take you to the reserve and wildlife sanctuary of Calauit Safari. Known as the Philippines version of African wildlife reserve. It's an isolated island on the western shores of Busuanga, about two hours away from Coron town and fifteen minutes by boat to the island. You need to book a Calauit Safari Tour to get there. If your coming from Manila, book a flight 鉁堬笍to Busuanga Francisco Reyes airport. From Busuanga airport it only takes 1.5 hour drive to Calauit island port.

When you arrive at the island you'll stay at the welcome hall waiting for your truck service to arrive and pick you up while riding the mini truck you'll see lots of zebras, giraffes, and Calamian deer roaming around. What I love about Calauit Safari zebras, giraffes and Calamian deer are free to roam. The zebras, giraffes and antelopes are from Africa, arrived in 1970's during the reign of the late President Ferdinand Marcos, the original zebras, giraffes and antelopes died off a long time ago and the remaining animals are their grandchildren.

The first thing we did was to feed the giraffes. Giraffes loves to eat mangroves leaves, native and imported African acacia leaves. Seeing and feeding giraffes for the first time is one of the best heart-warming 馃挅 experience I'll never forget 馃槏 馃槉 We have to stay inside the gated fence to keep up safe, just a precaution since one kick from giraffe can lead to serious injury.

After the leaves eaten by the giraffes. We walk through the zebras, where they like to hang out and busy grazing the grasses. The tour guide doesn't want us to fed and get close to the zebras because they tend to bite and kick as well. While the Calamian deer are busy milling around, I haven't took a photo of them because whenever I I come closer they would run away same with the antelopes. They run away whenever there are human around they are aloof to people. After taking photos of the zebras, we enter a mini zoo. We found porcupines, turtles, civet cat, crocodile, snake, and other common Philippines animals.

This is a Philippine freshwater crocodile. It is critically endangered species. There are only five freshwater crocodiles left.

These monkeys are native Philippine long-tailed macaques. It is listed as endangered species by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development and International Union for Conservation of Nature. When I came near the monkeys cage one of the monkey grab my hair and my ponytail was messed up. They love to grab hair 馃槅

Porcupine is one of the indigenous species that has been successfully conserve through the expansion of the park's conservation program.

By visiting Calauit Safari sanctuary, you'll be supporting the conservation of the animals as well as the caretaker. Calauit Safari is perfect for family and friends who wants a unique wildlife centered experience. Animals lovers and nature enthusiasts will surely enjoy the diverse range of wildlife. Walking through Calauit Safari Sanctuary felt like being transported to African Savannah 馃槏 馃槉馃
