Today I received a job offer via a text message:

https://img.inleo.io/DQmZkgBTSHEiE4cMmzbR5nEaxcegVmRCeBqiw865WbYxjdb/text-scam.jpg

I felt suspicious as soon as I looked at it, and there were a number of warning signs:

  1. The Company
  2. The CV
  3. The Grammar
  4. The Pay
  5. The Link

1. The Company

As this company has an HR department, it would need to be a medium to large company, So, you would think that the company's name would be included.

2. The CV

I haven't recently sent my CV to anyone.

3. The Grammar

The verb 'to invite' doesn't have a pronoun.

4. The Pay

This definitely falls into the 'too good to be true' bracket.

5. The Link

The link looked like a shortened URL which is often valid when sending text messages. The down side of these is that you have no idea of where you will be redirected.

Conclusion

I was too cautious to click on the link to find out more about this scam.

This scam may not catch many people out, but I thinks it's wise to share the ones you receive with the community - as does @katerinaramm
