Kiara enjoying a cappuccino

Brunch dates are always special, but my recent outing with Kiara to The Ground Venue in Muldersdrift felt extra memorable. Nestled in a picturesque setting, the restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a relaxed morning together.

We kicked things off with skinny cappuccinos, each served with a crisp biscotti on the side. What really stood out was the thoughtful touch of a fresh hot roll with butter, wrapped up like a little sweet—both charming and delicious. It was the perfect way to start our brunch while we chatted and soaked in the rustic charm of the venue.

For mains, we decided to share, which meant the best of both worlds. The chicken prego with salad was packed with flavour, tender and spicy in just the right way. Paired with it, we had a lamb wrap with tzatziki and chips, which was hearty and refreshing all at once —the creamy tzatziki balancing the richness of the lamb perfectly. Sharing plates made the experience feel even more fun and communal.

Before we left, Kiara treated herself to another cappuccino to-go, while I went for a refreshing iced coffee freezo, ideal for the warmer afternoon ahead.

We ended our visit by browsing in the little gift shop inside the venue, where Kiara picked up a stylish Panama hat and some biscuits to take home. All in all, The Ground Venue offered us not just a delicious brunch, but also a wholesome experience we’ll both remember fondly.
