During the 2023 presidential race the current president of Nigeria in one of his rallies made this statement

"If I Don't Give You Constant Electricity in The Next 4 Years, Don't Vote For Me For The Second Term"

Now this is coming from a country that The total estimated financial loss to Nigeria from corruption in the electricity sector since 1999 to date is over Eleven trillion Naira (N11 Trillion Naira),” the report stated. That's $6.9 billion.

Billions have been spent and looted still yet Nigeria falls very short on power generation with the National grid collapsing more than a child learning how to walk for the first time.

The irony is that figures from early 2025 show an installed capacity of around 13,625 Mega Watts, with an operational output as low as 5,339 MW recently. Now for a country of over 200 million people and generating just over 5000 MW.

South Africa generates over 40,000 MW with a population of 60 million, Egypt generates over 60,000 MW with a population of over 60 Million people.

Now let's analyse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's accomplishments in the power sector since he took office as the number 1 citizen of the country.

Before Tinubu became President Nigeria’s average dispatchable or available generation was around 4,100 MW, with peak generation being below 5,800 MW.

During Tinubu Nigeria has reportedly raised an average daily generation to 5,700 MW, and achieved a new peak of 6,003 MW, and aims for 8,000 MW by 2027.

Now based on this analysis does President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserve to be voted for second term.

Do you think he has fulfilled his promise but since he still has some time before re-election. I personally don't think he is doing enough to achieve constant electricity for Nigeria.
