Photo Memories No. 9

When I started this little series, I hadn't clocked that it would run into March. Early March is full of photo memories for me because in 2010 and 2011 March 1st was the day I flew to the USA to start each of my coast-to-coast rail journeys.
This one is from 2011 when I'd just woken up for the first time in San Francisco at the start of a journey I entitled "Please Look After This Englishman". I had arrived at SFO the day before at about 4pm local time, which is, of course, midnight according to my body clock. I managed to find my AirBnB (this was early days for the platform, my hosts knew folk who worked there) and tried to stay awake as long as I could but crashed out and woke around 8am to a classic foggy spring day in SF - cool and fresh, not chilly like the London I'd just left.
These succulents were my company while I had breakfast and started making plans for the next couple of days. I knew that I could stay with a friend down in Half Moon Bay that evening so I made may way into the city, bought a SIM card for my phone and got in touch to make arrangements.
