Hello Splinterlands fam!

The universe of splinterlands is both dynamic and ever-expanding, and if you are already familiar with this mystical strategy web3 game, you will also vouch for my words. Hello readers and welcome back once again to another splinterlands post and I hope all of you are doing well and enjoying a beautiful weekend with your family and friends. If you happen to be a dedicated player of this addictive card game and then you already know that we have passed playing another ranked season and I guess all of you who actively played in the previous ranked season have already collected your season-end Glint token rewards. As usual, another fresh new ranked season has passed already and looking at the season clock, we have a long 14 days and 19 hours left for this current season to meet its end. Sp there’s plenty of time to reach your goals, but that doesn't mean you should waste time and your precious battle energies. So whatever goals you are about to set for this ranked season, whether to reach a certain league tier or to secure a place in the top leaderboard in Champion League, it's better to start your journey early and utilise battle energies to earn more SPS and other in-game rewards.

On the other hand, the newest Frontier mode is also creating quite a noise among the community and not only the active players, but those who were inactive are also coming back to taste the new thrill that this new mode is offering. Not to mention, this new and completely free-to-play mode will also help a lot in onboarding new players by breaking the barrier of initial investment in order to play the game, as they can now enjoy the essence of this game without spending a single dine and then decide on the investment part later when they have a good understanding of the whole game - including its gameplay, mechanism, tokenomics and its reward structure. Now, just like most of you, I have also started playing this new mode and finished playing my first season while at the Bronze I league tier. Gladly, I have already won a bunch of Frontier Edition cards and 13 Frontier entries so far and will continue playing and increasing my collection.

Now moving forward to the main topic of this post, today I will be showcasing another amazing Conclave Arcana edition card with you all. As you have already seen it in the thumbnail above, today I will be talking about the RUNIC SKYCHONK. So, if you are interested, let’s take a dive without any further ado.

RUNIC SKYCHONK

Runic Skychonk is a monster type card that was introduced in the game with the launch of the latest CA edition card set. This fierce looking monster belongs to the Water element and it comes from the Ulund bloodline. This hippo warrior costs only 5 mana to be used in battles, so you may choose this one in your lineup when playing medium to large mana limit matches. By rarity, it is a Rare type card, so it would require a total of 115 BCX cards to upgrade it to its max level. The attack type of this card is magic and apart from a solid defensive combo of health and armour, this mobster also features 3 very useful abilities, which I will talk about to talk later in this post. Let us now take a further look at this monster’s league wise stats and abilities below to find out more.

BRONZE

At level 2, this monster possesses 2 magic attack power at 2 speed with 2 speed and 4 health, along with 2 abilities - Reckless and Armored Strike, both of which it gets from its initial level. However, though this monster feels a bit overpowered considering its mana cost, its Reckless ability can be tricky, bringing in friendly fire.

RECKLESS - Each successful attack also deals 1 true damage to adjacent allied units.

ARMORED STRIKE - If armored, gains a physical attack that deals damage equal to remaining armor.

SILVER

When this monster gets upgraded to level 4, gladly, here its stats get an increment of 2 magic attack power at 2 speed with 4 armour and 5 health. Though it does not get any new abilities at this level, its increased stats, along with those 2 abilities, will surely help you to win battles easily.

GOLD

As you upgrade this monster further to level 6, it receives the same stats as its previous league level - 2 magic attack at 2 speed with 4 armour and 5 health. Not only that, but it also gets a new ability from level 5 onwards called Protect, which will give extra armour to all allied units and will increase your overall defence a bit more.

PROTECT - +2 armour to all allied units.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you upgrade this monster to its max level of 8, then it gets further increased stats of 3 magic attack power at 2 speed with 5 armour and 5 health, along with those 3 abilities that I mentioned above. Though it does not get any new abilities at its max level, its increased magic attack power will take down armoured enemy units way faster, while its strong armour and health combo will consume multiple damages before going down.

Last but not least, stats wise this card is clearly a powerful monster that not only attacks with its magic but also with its armour. However, its reckless ability will turn on the friendly fire mode every time it does a successful attack. So, you have to use it carefully, so that it doss not end up killing down your allied units more than it takes down the enemy units. So, always keep it in mind while using this card in your lineup.
