Hello HIVE friends in this community, and greetings to @mattsanthonyit. In this group I see a lot of your posts about how you raise livestock and garden. For the time being I can only do my gardening hobby, not raise livestock. However, I really have the desire to raise livestock, but because my yard is not yet fenced and I still see ferrets roaming around in my yard very often. and I am afraid that my livestock will be eaten by him. Meanwhile, from morning to evening I have to work, so for now I am still learning how to raise poultry, especially free-range chickens and muscovy ducks, from my relatives who live in the villages.

At my brother's place, the poultry kept are not kept in cages, except for chickens which are laying eggs and need a comfortable place. All birds are let loose without being caged in the yard. He will only cage his livestock in the afternoon and release them again in the morning. The birds are left to find their own food without being fed regularly by the owner. The most frequent feeding by the owner is rice and leftover vegetables from the household. just them, and in my opinion raising livestock like this really reduces the cost of animal feed which is relatively expensive in my city. However, I am not sure I can apply this also in my village.

Why is it different, where my brother really still lives in his natural surroundings, there are still lots of water sources available and it is still very safe from the hands of ignorant people, aka thieves..ha..ha. There are too many differences, and although I haven't tried it, I'm not sure if I can raise livestock this way.

And you can see how adorable the birds he has, there are so many of them, in fact what you see does not represent all the number of birds, because they are scattered and looking for food everywhere. In fact, not only poultry, my brother also keeps several cattle which are only fed with rumout, not with artificial or chemical feed. However, the oxen are very healthy and once a year the oxen will be ready to be harvested and sold by him.

This was the result of a very pleasant visit and friendship, but unfortunately I didn't have enough time to continue there. Although I really feel at home here. In the future, I will show you all how my gardens are. Greetings from Maytom, Indonesia
