My Journey to Making Money Online

Good day guys. This is the female half of MMO, @deraaa, writing. Today, I thought of reminiscing through the past, recounting how I started making money online. Where and how it began, how much it helped me over the years and how good (or otherwise) it is going.

Before I do that, let me just remind you that none of this is financial advice. It is however advisable to do your own research. That is always a must.

After graduating secondary school, I made my first $15 (which was around N30,000 then) online through writing. How it began was meeting this guy on X (formerly twitter) and we just hit it off. He was also a writer and he would send me some of his works to help with proofreading and maybe check for any nuances. It was fun and he would send me some cash as thanks. Until one day, he asked my assistance with a racy scene in the novel he was writing. Safe to say that I not only got praised for my content, but got roped into it.

A week later, I was spending nights and afternoons on energy drinks dishing out a minimum of 5000 words per day. The least I wrote in a week was 30000 words and it was always between crime and passion. I have an active imagination, one that knows no limits especially when it comes to sexual content. That was a huge selling point for me, earning at least 30000 weekly. It was going good, until I hit a block. A block I could never recover from. I also lost contact with the guy but he had urged me to get started writing for Wattpad and Webnovel. Those paid well too, but I was young and I got bored soon enough. Bored and pressured.

Away from that, I met someone who asked me to help him go through certain contents in his mailbox for a certain amount monthly. He asked me to sort them out and label them accordingly. There was family, work, occasion and health. I also met him on X.

Then I came across

and have been here till date. Hive was unlike anything I had done. Daunting at first glance, but easy to navigate once you understand how it works. Hive became the first web3 social I got involved in that ultimately sustained me a long time. Now, this is the best part of Hive. I have always been interested in the concept of money despite how bad I felt at managing it. Hive introduced me to one of the best features I have yet to find its equivalent. The
with 15% apr.

I remember getting with a friend of mine before who would help me invest my money for 10% in interest rates monthly. He used it to trade and he was so good at it I had no loss. That was what got me intrigued with the HBD Savings Plan and then I joined the famous

that propelled me forward to utilising and making the most of this to achieve an ultimate goal. This was so good and going so well, not only did I get to save but I learned more about money, the concept of it and a bit on the
of it. All the while with just earning and saving on Hive.

Still on Hive, I met someone who introduced me to someone and found myself working as a

. It was mind boggling honestly as I had very little experience especially with the tasks. What I did six months later was to enroll for a course teaching V.A. I needed to understand what it was I was doing and I am glad I did. Through the help of this course, I saw there were different kinds of V.A and what mattered was finding your strength.

I also got to make money via Discord games and groups. My partner, @tengolotodo, introduced me to some beta games and contests happening on Discord. I earned at least $90 (which paid for school and other stuff).

Now, how far have I gone with this? I took a break from writing but I am finding my way back. Platforms like Amazon and Barnes & Noble help with

which enables me to earn royalties. Wattpad and Webnovel too, although I am still finding my way back to it. One thing that remains though is how much of a place X is. If you are looking for something sustainable online, X might just be the place to go to. There are always postings for vacancies from different fields.
