Diwali is becoming like a global festival; it is celebrated in almost all parts of the world. Here in Oman also we do get the feel of the festival, there are some parts of the city where we see Diwali decor just like the way we would see back home in India. Some of my friends have come from Mumbai, so last evening I took them to one of my favorite places, the Corniche where I normally go for my walks when the weather is good.

I came here after a long time though, because summer time I prefer to go to the park near my home for my walks. I came here after almost 6 months and there is so much development that has happened in these 6 months. The last time I was here, there was construction work going on, and all those buildings are ready now. And there is more new construction work that has started, it just keeps going on and on. I was telling hubby, that if I have lots of money, possibly I would buy a house here, but you need lots of money, because when you buy a house like this, the ongoing maintenance cost is also very high. This is a very different set of society, while I think if I have money I will buy the house here, but I know I will never fit in here.
