I Tamed My Ex-Husband's Mad Dog is one of the most striking manhwas I’ve read. The protagonist, Reinhardt Linke, is used by her husband like a puppet and later swears revenge. After her death, she returns to the past with one goal in mind: to dethrone the bastard prince who betrayed her in her previous life.
This manhwa is quite unique. When Reinhardt goes back in time, she immediately stabs the prince and is exiled. Prince Michell, upon learning of Reinhardt’s father's death, breaks off their engagement. Her father had only been used as bait and a human shield. What’s most interesting is that after being exiled, she vows to take revenge on Michell. In her past life, Michell treated her in the most vile and despicable way imaginable.
During her exile, Reinhardt meets Will Cohlonna, who was known in her previous life as Michell’s “mad dog.” Will is a boy who cannot speak and behaves like a wild beast.
Reinhardt is exiled to the county of Ruden—a cold, snowy land with scarce food supplies. It is the land that once belonged to her late mother. She is appointed as the Lord of Ruden, which seems like a light punishment for someone who stabbed the kingdom’s prince.
Reinhardt’s thirst for revenge runs deep, and she decides to raise Will Cohlonna, whose body was that of a child. His physical development didn’t match his age due to malnutrition, a harsh survival environment, and poor living conditions.
Before her exile, Reinhardt shared a solid friendship with Dietrich Ernst, one of the knights of House Linke. I really liked his character—he was Reinhardt’s first love and served as both mentor and rival to Will.
So far, I’ve only described the storyline, but not the core elements that make it so compelling. The plot is excellently crafted; each chapter has something meaningful to convey, and everything is interconnected. The character development is phenomenal, and the overall tone of the story is very dark.
The narrative begins with vengeance, evolves into the recognition of Ruden as a militarily strategic region, Will’s acknowledgment as a prince, Michell’s death, and Will’s obsessive love for Reinhardt.
One particularly interesting plot device is the use of memory loss and the disappearance of Dietrich Ernst. It causes a major rift between Will and Reinhardt. The most dramatic moment comes when Reinhardt asks Will if he’s lying to her.
The manhwa includes mature content—there is blood, sexual desire, and disturbing scenes. It’s a josei story, with drama, fantasy, reincarnation, and tragedy as its primary genres. I must point out that Reinhardt was initially opposed to any romantic relationship with Will, but love bloomed regardless of their age difference. There was no longer a need for revenge; it was time to give a chance to the boy who grew up with her and loved her deeply. What Reinhardt didn’t expect was the extent of Will’s obsession.
One of the saddest elements is how their union and separation play out. They love each other but don’t allow themselves to be together—until they do, and then guilt follows due to each other’s pain and losses.
Two characters I absolutely despise are Michell Alanquez and Princess Canaria. Canaria is a prisoner of war who serves Michell. In the protagonists’ previous life, Michell made Reinhardt suffer immensely, and Canaria sexually abused Will. Both knew Will was of royal blood. Their fates after the regression are ones I wouldn’t wish upon anyone.
I Tamed My Ex-Husband's Mad Dog is a completed manhwa with 92 episodes. It was first released in 2022 and concluded not long ago. The story goes beyond the predictable and is packed with intense drama. The only downside is its abrupt and clumsy ending—I wanted just a bit more.

Antes de que Reinhardt Linke fuese exiliada había una amistad solidad con Dietrich Ernst, uno de los caballeros de Linke. Este personaje me gustó mucho, además fue el primer amor de Reinhardt y el maestro y rival de Will. Hasta este punto solo hice una descripción de la secuencia de la historia, pero no de los elementos que la componen. La trama está desarrollada perfectamente, cada capítulo tiene algo preciso que contar y se entrelazan consecutivamente. Los personajes están desarrollados muy bien. Hay mucha oscuridad en la historia. La trama inicia con el deseo de venganza, el reconocimiento de Ruden como un área militar importante, el reconocimiento de Will como príncipe, la muerte de Michell y el romance obsesivo de Will por Reinhardt. Algo que me pareció muy interesante es que la trama incorporó la pérdida de memoria y la desaparición de Dietrich Ernst muy bien. Esto ocasionó una ruptura entre Will y Reinhardt. Lo más dramático es que Reinhardt le preguntó a Will si él le estaba mintiendo. El manhwa posee contenido para adultos; hay sangre, deseo sexual y escenas difíciles de ver. Es de demografía josei mientras que sus géneros son drama, fantasía, reencarnación y tragedia. En este punto, debo destacar que Reinhardt se oponía a tener una relación con Will, pero el amor surgió a pesar de la diferencia de edad y no había porque ir más allá de la venganza. Era momento de darle una oportunidad al niño que creció junto a ella y la amaba. Lo que no esperaba la protagonista era el nivel de obsesión de Will. Algo muy triste es cómo ocurrieron los acontecimientos de la unión y separación de los protagonistas. Ambos se quieren, pero no se permiten estar juntos hasta que ocurre y se siente culpabilidad por la pérdida del otro. Dos personajes que detesto de la historia son: Michell Alanquez y la princesa Canaria. Canaria es una prisionera de guerra que sirve a Michell. En la vida anterior de los protagonistas, Michell hizo sufrir a Reinhardt y Canaria usó como objeto sexual a Will. Ambos sabían que Will era un príncipe y tenía sangre real. El final de ambos después de la regresión no se lo deseo a nadie. I Tamed My Ex-Husband's Mad Dog es un manhwa que está finalizado y posee 92 episodios.
