Dark Enchantress - Splinterlands [ENG/ESP]

Today I wanted to draw a new fan art from Splinterlands—well, to be honest, I had drawn it days ago hahaha, but today I’m sharing it. It’s the card Dark Enchantress, a beautiful silver-haired witch who is also very powerful. This card has very particular details that go beyond her lovely hair: her pointed hat is iconic, along with the third eye on her forehead and her pearl necklace. She also has purple skin, and I want all those features to be reflected in my drawing in one way or another so the character remains recognizable despite the change in style. I’ll also be drawing her broom, because in the original card art she’s flying on a witch’s broom.

Hoy quise dibujar un nuevo fan art de Splinterlands, bueno para ser honesto lo tenía dibujado hace días jajaja, pero hoy lo comparto. Se trata de la carta Dark Enchantress, que es una bella bruja de cabellos plateados y que es muy poderosa. Esta carta tiene detalles muy particulares que van más allá de su bello cabello: su sombrero puntiagudo es muy característico junto a su tercer ojo en la frente y su collar de perlas. Además, tiene la piel morada y quiero que todos esos detalles queden reflejados en mi dibujo de una forma u otra para que el personaje sea muy reconocible a pesar del cambio de estilo. También haré su escoba, porque en el arte original de la carta está sobre una escoba de bruja.

I want my drawing to have that style I’ve been incorporating and exploring lately in my art and fan art, a mix between children's illustration and 2000s cartoons, like the ones I used to watch when I was little. For the entire drawing, I’ll be using the Ibis Paint app, which is one of my favorite tools for drawing. And to create the animation, I’ll be using the Pixverse platform, where I’ll animate a simple movement of the character as if it were floating, along with the motion of the background symbols.

Quiero que mi dibujo tenga ese estilo que estoy incorporando y explorando en mis dibujos y fan art últimamente, una mezcla entre dibujo infantil y caricatura de los 2000, como esas que tanto veía cuando chico. Para todo el dibujo estaré dibujando en la aplicación de Ibis Paint, que es de mis aplicaciones favoritas para dibujar, y para crear la animación estaré usando la herramienta de Pixverse, donde animaré un movimiento simple del personaje como si estuviese flotando y el movimiento de los símbolos del fondo.

First, I’ll start with a rough sketch, placing each element in its proper space and making sure I include the key features I don’t want to miss. I’ll also use the symmetry tools in Ibis Paint for certain details like the eyes. The hair will be curly but spiky and messy, almost zigzag-like, inspired by the original card. I’ll draw her pointed hat, and I want her to have small fangs sticking out of her mouth, which I think will give her a more playful touch.

Primero haré mi boceto sin muchos detalles, ubicando cada elemento en su respectivo espacio y las cosas que quiero que no me falten. Además, usaré herramientas de simetría de Ibis Paint para algunos detalles como los ojos. El cabello lo haré en rizos pero puntiagudos y alborotado, casi zigzag como la carta original. Dibujaré su sombrero, y quiero que tenga pequeños colmillos en la boca que sobresalgan; creo que le dará un toque más divertido.

Then I refine my sketch by creating the lineart, the final lines that will define my drawing. I choose a line weight that’s neither too thin nor too thick, just the right value for that cartoon style, while still allowing me to stylize certain shapes and add smaller details.

Después refino mi boceto, ya sí haciendo el lineart, las líneas definitivas que tendrá mi dibujo. Escojo un valor lineal ni muy fino ni muy grueso, el necesario para ese estilo cartoon, pero a la vez poder estilizar algunas formas y hacer detalles más pequeños.

My drawing is now ready to be colored. The first step is to place the general colors in each part of the illustration. I also take this opportunity to add a bit of volume and detail to the skin, which creates a subtle 3D effect.

Ya mi dibujo está listo para comenzar a ser coloreado. Lo primero es ubicar los colores generales del dibujo en cada parte. Aprovecho también para dar un poco de volumen y detalle en la piel, lo que creará un ligero efecto 3D.

I add more volume and details, especially on the clothing. I’ll give her striped sleeves like in the original card, which also has golden line accents on the dress—I’ll turn those lines into part of her new outfit. And of course, I’ll add more highlights and shadows.

Agrego más volúmenes y detalles, sobre todo en la ropa. Le haré mangas de rayas como en la carta original, que tiene detalles de líneas doradas en el vestido; convertiré esas líneas en parte de su nuevo outfit. Y por supuesto, más brillos y sombras.

For the background, I’ll keep it as simple as possible—a soft linear gradient over which I’ll layer a series of runes and symbols to enhance the magical nature of the character and the Splinterlands universe itself. And that’s it, my drawing of Dark Enchantress is finished. I really, really liked how it turned out. Thank you for joining me for another day of drawing. Bye bye!

Para el fondo lo mantendré lo más simple posible, un degradado lineal sencillo al que superpondré una serie de runas y símbolos para realzar el carácter mágico del personaje y del propio universo de Splinterlands.
