Putting this post together brings back some great memories. I had worked and skied, three snow seasons in the Australian Snowy Mountain in my younger days but had not spent much time at many of the bigger International ski villages around the world.

My friends and work colleagues  raved how much better it was so after years of saving, my son and I finally got to check it one of the big name resorts and mountains out, We added a quick stop over in Los Angeles to check out Universal Studio on the way.

It was a long Flight from Australia and we were staying at a hotel just outside Universal Studios, We arrived late in the afternoon and we had only planned one full day at the park but we were so pumped to be there  and we just dropped our bags in the hotel and headed over to Universal studios.

We got lucky and they were open to 10pm being some holiday weekend so it was cheaper for us to buy a season pass and head straight in and checkout the evening action as well as the next full day. All the entertainment and rides inside meant we did not feel jet lagged at all. But when we finally hit the sack we did sleep really well.

Jurassic Park ride. We did all the rides some even twice.

The next day we flew to Vancouver on Air Canada. How was this for the good old days. I was telling my son to check out the cockpit as we walked past and boarded the plane and the Captain invited us in!

After some long days of travelling we finally made it onto the slopes. My son prefers to snow board but I insisted he learned both and used skis until we got to know our way around the mountain a bit.

The Peak 2 peak gondola ride between Whistler and Black Comb Mountains was a high light all in itself. The 4.4-kilometre ride through the clouds.

We got some pretty good weather and the ski conditions were good.

Skied all day then out and about in the Village. There was so much to do and explore.

We stayed with a mate, I used to work with. This was the Olympic tobogganing track.

He must have had a good time, totally crashed out waiting to board our flight home.

A great sunset to the end to one of my favourite trips.
