Morality, Ethics, and the Law: Where Should We Draw the Line?

We are made to believe we have the freedom to do whatever we want, but honestly, it’s just in our minds. When you come to the real world, we are all controlled in one way or the other. Take a look at Africans. I can say we are one the most religious people you can every come across and funny enough, religion has been used a way to control us. Because tell me why someone is saying they’re kid who’s dying in the hospital cannot get a blood transfusion because they belong to a particular church where blood transfusion is not allowed. Well, let’s move away from that.
Where I come from, we have morals and ethics which are generic. But when you take a closer look to the family I was raised in, we also have morals and ethics we grew up with as kids. So, in a way, our minds have been tuned to know that this is morally acceptable and this isn’t. But, not everyone gets things this way. Let’s take a look at individuals who go into prostitution or even hookup which is now an upgrade of that. It’s more of a business now and when you look at it from the point of logic, no crime is being committed. Because at the end of the day, it’s a win win for both parties. I mean, it’s better than a child being raped somewhere.
You’d probably have already thought to yourself that prostitution is a bad thing and that’s because that’s what we have been told and made to believe. That’s the restriction I’m talking about here. As an individual, you don’t get to do anything you want just because you want to. And even if you do, you’d have to take responsibility for your actions because the laws in most countries are being set by people who consider morals and ethics in making decisions. So, you don’t get to go scot free.
Personally, I think it’s just part of human nature that our morals and ethics are considered when our laws are being made as a country. This in a way, helps control us and prevent us from running wild because the least chance you give to some people, they would make sure to just mess things up for everyone. But, you would always have those people who wouldn’t agree with some laws and thats because we all view situations from different points of views. But generally, these laws someway somehow keep us in check.
So, I guess this is a step in the right direction.
