Freewrite writing prompt Day 2818 : head on the door

Head on the door, with ears very attentive and eyes wide open at alert, ready to detect any unusual moments.
This has been Alex pattern every night.
He lives in a big house but doesn't have peace, his neighbor was just killed three days ago by an unknown cause.
But Alex knew something fishy happened.
He heard some noises that night, he felt it was unusual and made complaints to the chief security who didn't take him serious.
After their actions and how they handled the case, Alex knew he has to be his own guide not relying on this security men they pay heavily.

He just need to guide himself for seven days before he finally move to his new apartment.
He has successfully secured a new apartment and is hoping for them to finish the construction before he moves in.
The last time he checked the progress,it was just left with painting which will be done in two days time.

His night watch affects his morning activities, his work is being affected.
Though he has learnt to shift most work to night before he is completely at alert ready for the unknown.

He wasn't ready to take chances and it was only for a short time.
If what he will lose won't bring more damage he will take the risk until when he settles down.

In no time, as this watch will be history.
He feel bad for his neighbor but their is nothing he could have done because he didn't know what was going on at first.
