Megaman X8

#MegamanX8 was definitely an improvement from #MegamanX7. #Capcom toned down the 3D aspect in Megaman X8. The game mostly operated in 2D gameplay in 3D environment. For the 3D portions of stages, you are able to board vehicles with your character of choice. The use of vehicles & Megaman on 3D portions of stages fits like a glove. The two additional navigators to Alia, Layer & Pallette is a nice touch. In Megaman X7, you are able to walk or dash on 3D portions of stages but it did not land well with players. This will be a minor spoiler but it was a nice twist that the final boss of this game was not Sigma considering that Megaman X8 was the last of the Megaman X games.
