Yesterday in my writeup, I was talking about the process of achieving a dream. As beautiful as a dream may look, there are some principles and processes that must be followed to birth such dream and give life to them. I had talked about the place of Grace, Passion, Pursuit and the Human Capital as part of the factors.
The human capital's role in a business venture cannot be over emphasized. The human capital is variously divided into various segments for professionalism. The quality of persons in a venture will greatly determine the success of the venture.
There is no way a big dream will not need much hands other than that of the dream owner to drive it. At this point, the dreamer then need to adequately communicate the dream to a point of selling it out to his people so that it will then become their dream. On this premise, organizations form their aims and objectives.
At this point, the dream owner need not go to sleep but stay awake to monitor the processes and procedure employed in the day to day running. This is imperatively so in other to mitigate against vices that are enemical to a business such as but not limited to nepotism, corruption, prejudice, racism and the likes.
Achieving a successful strategic fit is the first step and pointer to a successful business venture. Getting the right person for the right job. At this point, your executives could be rules by emotions, or any other unethical vices to make the wrong choice in the selection process.
It is one thing to get started and it is another thing to keep going. All effort must be made and put in place to keep the business and process going in a profitable manner. Motivation, wages and salary, research and development, incentives and the likes keep the human capital going. While the dream owner is profit oriented and profit maximization he wants to achieve. These two opposing ends must be balanced for a sustainable process.
