Teaching the younger generation farming

One problem of agriculture is that young men and women see agricluter as an old men fashion. They see it as suffering and it's for poor people. If we fail to encourage and teach them while they are young, we may raise a generation that will leave in hunger. Therefore I decided to teach and engage my students in theory and practical agriculture.
At school I decided teach my somthing specially . Something they can practice withing their homes , with the little space they have.
The aim is to enabled young people to discover more about agriculture as a profession and aims to encourage more people to perceive farming as a career after school.
We decided to plant potato in bags.
My school where I work lack space for farming and as agricultural teacher, the raining season can not just come and go without engaging into one or two planting. Growing potatoes in bags is an excellent solution to Homes and schools that lack enough space for farming. potatoed are one favorite and versatile food that's easy and less expensive to grow. While there are many lovers of potatoes, not all have the space to plant it thus, the need for this simple act.
All the student were group into eight (8) with each providing two bags making a total of 16. We went outside the school to get a rich soil and fill 2/3 of the bags with the soil. With the aid of a cutllas stems of potatoes were cut to atleast 8cm long. For each bags, we planted 3 to 4 slips of potato stems.
The planted potatoes bags is placed in a site with at least six hours a day of direct sunlight. We will be observing and watching how it grows. For potatos, sprouting begins in 4days time . We hope to have a bomber harvest at the end.
