The tough side of life.

The river burst its banks and a great flood was in progress.
This house on the riverbank was in the midst of the flood.
The house is close to our home, but much closer to the river and the whole area in the first photo looked like a dam. Fortunately, a guy in a boat rescued the person and the dogs that lived in the house. But much worse was to follow. The resident stayed with a friend and decided to return to the house after the flood waters had subsided.
So, let me tell you the story with my pictures.
Like I said, the entire area was flooded and a school was also demolished by the flood.
Now that little stream looks harmless, but it is in fact a river and you can see that it carried tons of rocks on its way during the flooding.
Now here below starts even a worse side to this story.
Vandals had broken into the house, and they stripped the house of its contents. And then the house was set on fire.
Imagine if you were to return to your house, and found it like this!
A terrible nightmare, as now the resident has nothing. A quandary of note, that no one deserves, and the resident will now have to start life all over again.
We are worried about the person that lost the house, and we will see if can find a contact number to assist the person. Our local paper has more detail on this story about the house.
And you can google "Distrikspos 12 July 2023 edition".
Regarding the school that was also destroyed during the floods.
Our partner non-profit, Imibala, took the 100 schoolchildren in, as their school was wrecked by the flood, and now a new premises is being sought for the school in a safer area. Imibala also feeds the children and Papillon supplies some fruit. So, thus far the school children are sorted.
Life can certainly deliver some sharp and unexpected blows to us as humans and I know how this person feels, as I have also been burgled a few times. Lost everything and had to start over. A feeling of privacy violation and emotional helplessness engulfs the senses, but such is life, and we simply have to go on. Stand up, shake off the dust of the fall and move on.
Never easy and a long battle awaits the person that lived in that house.
Who said that life is easy?
And That's All Friends!
