I did a thorough cleaning of my dad's room // Hice una limpieza a fondo de la habitación de mi padre

Today I had a thorough cleaning at home. Every last Sunday of the month, we used to observe sanitation in my State, Akwa Ibom in Nigeria. There wasn't a movement for three hours and thirty minutes. Everyone utilizes this opportunity to clean up their environment and keep it clean.

So this morning, my parents woke us up and asked us to do a thorough cleaning of the house, which I and my sister did as commanded by our parents.

This morning I started with my dad's room. I carried out the bed frames that were used to support my dad's foam out and swept it inside. It's been months since I have swept. Lifting them, it was very dusty and dirty. I had to sweep it out. When I had finished, I put back the foam so I could sweep other corners of the rooms well. I swept out the dust and dirt.

I turned to the wardrobe glass and cleaned it with a wet cloth with a little detergent in it. I clean like truce time, so it could give me the real shiny glass. I took my time to clean it well and after the cleaning of the wardrobe glass, it was giving.

I later came into the room with my mop and mopping pail to do the finishing work. I mopped the floor the first time using warm water and detergent, to avoid foul smell and the other pail with warm water too to rinse the floor.

Nevertheless, after mopping the floor, my dad's room looked sparkling; it was cozy, smelled nice, and everywhere was splendid.

Remember, I said thorough cleaning. After I had finished with my dad's room, I went further to wash his bedsheets and mine, too, and some of my clothes that were dirty. Here, I am exhausted and worn out. I took some rest before I continued the washing. After washing, I took my bath, and I finally rested.

Hoy he hecho una limpieza a fondo en casa. Cada último domingo del mes, solíamos observar el saneamiento en mi Estado, Akwa Ibom en Nigeria. No había movimiento durante tres horas y treinta minutos. Todo el mundo aprovecha esta oportunidad para limpiar su entorno y mantenerlo limpio.

Así que esta mañana, mis padres nos despertaron y nos pidieron que hiciéramos una limpieza a fondo de la casa, cosa que yo y mi hermana hicimos siguiendo las órdenes de nuestros padres.

Esta mañana he empezado por la habitación de mi padre. He sacado los marcos de la cama que servían de soporte a la espuma de mi padre y la he barrido por dentro. Hacía meses que no barría. Al levantarlos, había mucho polvo y suciedad. Tuve que barrerlo todo. Cuando terminé, volví a colocar la espuma para poder barrer bien otros rincones de las habitaciones. Barrí el polvo y la suciedad.

Me dirigí al cristal del armario y lo limpié con un paño húmedo con un poco de detergente. Limpié como en tiempo de tregua, para que me quedara el cristal reluciente de verdad. Me tomé mi tiempo para limpiarlo bien y después de la limpieza del cristal del armario, estaba dando.

Más tarde entré en la habitación con la fregona y el cubo de fregar para hacer el trabajo de acabado. La primera vez fregué el suelo con agua caliente y detergente, para evitar el mal olor, y el otro cubo también con agua caliente para aclararlo.

Sin embargo, después de fregar el suelo, la habitación de mi padre estaba reluciente; era acogedora, olía bien y todo estaba espléndido.

Recuerda que he dicho limpieza a fondo. Cuando terminé con la habitación de mi padre, seguí lavando sus sábanas y también las mías, y parte de mi ropa que estaba sucia. Estoy exhausta y agotada. Descansé un poco antes de seguir lavando. Después de lavar, me bañé y por fin descansé.
