This time, I will be very short... The story begins 48 hours ago, when I received the email that the new user had registered as an owner of my website on Google Search Console! I checked it, and there were no additional users, so I didn't pay too much attention...

The next wake-up call happened right after I made this great photo yesterday morning, on my early walk by the sea... A friend of mine sent me a message saying his website doesn't work (hosted on my machine)... As I had only a mobile phone, I checked the machine and saw a heavy load, which slowed down everything...

Long story short, some of the hosted websites got hacked... It wasn't the first time in 20+ years of my hosting journey, but every time, it's annoying to experience it... The reason why and how hackers did it isn't always clear, but in 99% of cases, it's because of an old/outdated script, a WordPress version from 2005, very weak passwords, etc.

What looked at the beginning as a small issue with 1 website turned out to be multiple, different cases of hacking with malware scripts in the end... After 48 hours of intensive work, the machine is cleaned, and things are getting back to normal...

Just a reminder for hackers... Hacking websites is a crime, at the same level as robbing a property or a house... You can try to hide your trail, but many times, it is possible to track the intruder... Hacking is not a game, and it costs people time and money...

Now excuse me, but I have to take a rest...
