Ya diciembre nos respira en la nuca, así que por aquí seguimos activados con las decoraciones navideñas hechas en casa, y hoy quiero compartir con ustedes dos mini arbolitos de navidad para decorar cualquier rincón en casita. Son súper sencillos de elaborar, low cost y los puedes hacer a tu gusto. En mi caso, saben que este año estamos con tonos tradicionales y una decoración rústica, con materiales naturales, así que son arbolitos sin muchas decoraciones, bastante minimalistas diría yo, pero súper lindos.

December is just around the corner, so we're still busy with our homemade Christmas decorations, and today I want to share with you two mini Christmas trees to decorate any corner of your home. They're super easy to make, low cost, and you can customize them to your liking. In my case, as you know, this year we are going for traditional colors and rustic decorations with natural materials, so these trees don't have many decorations. I would say they are quite minimalist, but super cute.

Se trata de una decoración bastante sencilla de hacer, y aunque básicamente son muy parecidos se diferencian por detalles que sin dudas hace que cada uno de ellos sea muy especial, y lo mejor de todo es que puedes elaborarlos con materiales que seguramente tienes en casita, así que acompáñame y aprende a hacerlos.

This decoration is quite simple to make, and although they are basically very similar, they differ in details that undoubtedly make each one very special. Best of all, you can make them with materials you probably already have at home, so join me and learn how to make them.

Para nuestro primer arbolito vamos a necesitar un pequeño tronco de madera, una ramita seca, y una guirnalda que cortaremos según el tamaño que deseemos para nuestro arbolito. Y lo primero que haremos será pegar el palito a la base de madera con suficiente silicón caliente para que se mantenga firme durante todo el trabajo.

For our first little tree, we will need a small wooden log, a dry twig, and a garland that we will cut to the size we want for our tree. The first thing we will do is glue the stick to the wooden base with enough hot glue to keep it firmly in place throughout the project.

El siguiente paso es cortar dos tiras de guirnalda navideña del alto que queremos nuestro arbolito de navidad y para ello utilizaremos las tenazas.

The next step is to cut two strips of Christmas garland to the height we want our Christmas tree to be, using the pliers.

El siguiente paso es pegar la primera pieza de guirnalda dejando algunos centímetros de la base del tronco, tal como si se tratase de un árbol real, y una vez seco, pegamos la otra pieza de guirnalda por el lado de atrás de nuestra ramita, esto para tener cubiertos ambos lados del tronco de nuestro árbol y tener más volumen.

The next step is to glue the first piece of garland a few inches from the base of the trunk, as if it were a real tree. Once dry, glue the other piece of garland to the back of the twig to cover both sides of the tree trunk and add volume.

En mi caso, yo quería un arbolito bien tupido, así que luego de organizar las dos piezas de guirnaldas recorté pequeñas ramitas de guirnaldas para meterlas entre las demás ramas y que quedase un abrolito bien gordito. Para pegar estas ramitas solo coloqué silicón caliente en la punta, la sujeté en su lugar unos segundos hasta que estuvo firme y repetí el proceso hasta que estuvo tal como yo quería.

In my case, I wanted a very dense tree, so after arranging the two pieces of garland, I cut small twigs from the garlands to insert them between the other branches to create a nice, thick tree. To attach these twigs, I simply placed hot silicone on the tip, held it in place for a few seconds until it was firm, and repeated the process until it was just how I wanted it.

En este punto debía darle forma a mi árbol que por supuesto debe ser más angosto arriba e ir aumentando su tamaño poco a poco, y para esto me ayudé con la tijera, pero si lo deseas solo con doblar la ramita de la guirnalda dejándola del tamaño que la deseas es más que suficiente, así que estuve trabajando en ello hasta que quedó tal como yo quería.

At this point, I had to shape my tree, which of course should be narrower at the top and gradually increase in size. I used scissors to help me do this, but if you prefer, simply bending the twig of the garland to the desired size is more than enough. So, I worked on it until it was just how I wanted it.

Una vez lo tenemos así, el siguiente paso es decorar a nuestro gusto, y para el segundo arbolito, repetí el mismo proceso, solo que en este caso, introduje el arbolito en una maceta que cubrí con una tela similar al yute, y le puse una pequeña guirnalda blanca tejida a crochet, con una pequeña estrella roja en la punta, por otro lado al otro arbolito le coloqué una de las estrellitas musicales que hice hace unos años con partituras y me pareció que le va súper bien.

Once we have it like this, the next step is to decorate it to our liking, and for the second tree, I repeated the same process, only in this case, I placed the tree in a pot that I covered with a jute-like fabric, and I added a small white crocheted garland with a little red star on top. On the other tree, I placed one of the musical stars that I made a few years ago with sheet music, and I thought it looked great.

Como pueden ver es un trabajo bastante sencillo de elaborar, y súper lindo para decorar cualquier pequeño espacio en casa, y al hacerlo nosotros mismos podemos decidir desde su tamaño hasta su decoración. Y particularmente me parece que se ven muy lindos y muy acordes al estilo que estoy usando en casa para esta temporada navideña. Espero que les hayan gustado tanto como a mi estos arbolitos y que puedan hacerlos en casa.

As you can see, it's a fairly simple project to make, and it's super cute for decorating any small space in your home. And by making them ourselves, we can decide everything from their size to their decoration. I particularly think they look very cute and very much in keeping with the style I'm using at home for this Christmas season.
