Self-Shoot Photo Studio

Self shoot studios are on the rise here in the Philippines. I've seen my friends have their photos taken on these studios lately. Some of them wants to take a photo shoot for an occassion they are preparing for, some just for fub. Because why not?
I don't really knew how these self shoot photo studios work. For someone who does all the planning and wants to anticipate anything that could happen when I do plans, I had a lot of questions about how it works.
It so happened that our homeschooling provider required every family to submit a solo picture of our learner and a family picture. I planned on DIY-ing the photos again like I did last year but the lighting and backdrop is really a challenge for us. It's a good thing that my husband found a self shoot photo studio just a short ride away from us.
We booked an appointment but not before I could check out the studio personally. We dropped by and asked the receptionist how it works, then we chose a package, selected a backdrop, and then set our schedule. We chose the 20-minute session package which includes a 4R and 2 photo strips. I also added a keychain in our package.
The day of our photo session came and so we went there bringing half of the books my daughter used for the school year. Inside the studio is a dressing area, a make up station, and lots and lots of props you can use. There's also a large monitor where you'll see yourself while you do the shoot so you can fix your posing properly. The lady gave us time to prepare ourselves, set up the props we brought, get dressed and ready for the shoot. Once we were all settled, she set the timer to 23 minutes, the package we chose has an additional 3 minutes free.
She handed me the remote and taught me how to use it. It was really simple and easy, the camera settings are already set, all I had to do was long half-press the camera button on the remote and then once the camera view gets in focus, fully press the button. There were a few mishaps along the way, like the camera not shooting when I press the remote, or the remote itself turning off. I guess the remote was either not connected properly or it just has low battery.
My little family was having so much fun doing the shoot, the technical issues were jusy a bit annoying. The studio was nice enough though to give us extra time to take more photos because of the inconvenience. I loved how my little one got creative with her poses. She is usually uncomfortable when she's in front of a photographer so I guess self shoot photo studios is a great option for her.
I was the one who directed all of our poses for this shoot. Well, I usually am the one who thinks about how they should pose. But the little one showed she also has an eye for photography and modelling. I remember how I used to have a hard time taking a photo of her when she was a toddler. She never really wants to have her photo taken. Maybe because she's far more excited to run around than to sit or stand still just to have a photo op.
Overall, we had a lot of fun at Love Shot Self Shoot Studio. You might want to check out their Facebook page and have your photo taken if you're anywhere near Taguig. They have several packages you can choose from and a selection of backdrops for your photoshoot. If you feel a bit shy to pose in front of a professional photographer, a self shoot photo studio is your best option.
