Hi splinter fam,

Welcome to my blog for another exciting entry into the splinterlands social media challenge. This days I hardly make my entry into the splinterlands contests( social media and engagement challenges)

But this doesn't mean that I don't play spl. I play spl every single day and there have been times where spl gameplay has taken the most part of my day. Then again I try to balance things cause at the end of the day it's a game and I shouldn't be spending all of my day on gaming when I should be doing other things as well. This goes to show that it's an addictive game and when you seem to know what you are about the game becomes more and more lovely and easy to play.

Everyday I make noise about spl being a continues learning experience and just sticking to one strategy might end up doing you more harm than good. Why do I say this? I am saying this because new cards and abilities are always been introduced into the game. What worked a few years ago won't work today cause those cards which you used to combine and play in modern league might have been rotated out. This is why it's important to understand the game even when you're winning most of the time.

One thing I tend to like about spl is that, yes you might have most of the big cards and win most of your games but there are days where someone will use low end cards and defeat you which will surprise you. This is why I specifically don't look at a players previously used cards. For some people they use it to predict the line you'll put up. In my opinion it can make you complacent, I say this cause when you look at a players line up and in his last 5 games he has used low level cards you brain immediately tells you they have low level cards and this can cause you to end up choosing cards which will end up to be defeated.

Whiles I make a lot of noise about strategy let me show you guys what I did in a particular battle. For some people this will be a new strategy but for some they have known about this already.

Remember when the new rebellion summoners were released 2 years ago? They came with new set of strategies which we had never encountered before. One could select his team and even after submitting the battle some summoners gave you the ability to make tactical modifications before the game actually started. Now this is what I did.

In this particular battle I was given 3 rulesets. These rulesets were deflection shield. With deflection shield all units have deflect which makes them immune to blast, magic reflect, thorns, return fire, corrosive ward and a whole lot of retaliatory actions.

The next one being super sneak. This means all melee units in your team will target the last position card of your enemy.

The last one being reverse speed. Now with reverse speed, it's a tricky hole. I say this cause you usually think that going in for cards with speeds as low as one will help but there are times where your opponent cards are just too strong for even your one speed cards.

I will normally go in for the Bella Ratajowlski summoner but with one of the rulesets being deflection there was no need. So I went in for Avina of thr wolf. This is a life summoner which allows you to choose between +2 speed to 2 of your cards or healing ability of one card in the tactics stage.

For my cards I went in for mostly melee because of the super sneak ruleset. My first card was skyspire leopard. Next in line was ulundin regulator, next was reffous brewer, then a magic card in the name of meriput moss mender, next melee being happy quokka and then grimbardun fighter. 5 out of my 6 cards were melee cards which just one being magic cause It had to shield repair ability.

Now let's go back to the tactics stage. Since this was a reverse speed game I didn't have use of my +2 speed to 2 cards. I also didn't want to give healing abilities to just one card when I could make use of the 2 speed to 2 cards. So instead of using it on my line up I gave it to my opponent. I selected 2 of his cards to have +2 speed and it worked brilliantly.

Why do I say it worked brilliantly? I am saying this cause with a lot of speed his cards will tend to miss their turn when they attack my cards.

All my opponent cards had 3 speed so I gave those 2 speed to 2 of his most dangerous melee cards and it worked. When those cards had their chance to attack they missed most of them and I had the chance to finish them off pretty fast.
