About Album "Methuselah"

Now I'm working on a Techno / Progressive House album. I promise that I will finish the job, as this item is one of the top items on my to-do list for this year. And so I'll go over the tracks from the album a little. I started making it from the very beginning of the year, on January 1st I sat down to work on the first track - Methuselah, here on the highway he was warmly welcomed and it makes me very happy. The tracks are all a bit oriental, a kind of "Shamanic Techno Music". I started to devote a crazy amount of time to the smallest details when working in music, such as transitions, drops, track buildup, percussion work. I really want the album to not go beyond my ideas, the music should be mystical, danceable and moderately aggressive, in order to emphasize the mood of the album, its sound character. The second track from the album - "Altair" also became a kind of guide from club music to mystical sound, I call it shamanic music. All tracks have their own sound character but are sustained in the same style. And today I finished work on the third track, I made this track almost in one breath. It doesn't often happen that I'm writing a track and I'm so addicted that I can't even go to the kitchen to pour myself hot tea.

What do we do music for? - For buzz!

Now for the track: Hanuman - this is a track that, according to my idea, will be somewhere at the beginning of the mix, it kind of plays the role of an opening track, shows the main motive of the album, as it were, prepares the listener for the next tracks in the album. It's not the album's title track, but it's just as important as every other track on the album. When I sat down to work on this track, I immediately knew what I wanted to do, and did not waste a second of time on something else. Roughly speaking, I had the theme of the track in my head and I just recreated what was in my ideas and thoughts. A huge part of the time I spent creating transitions and getting out of the pit, really - for me this part of the work has become very responsible. I didn’t want to lose the thread that would connect the parts of the track together, besides, in a melancholy sound, such chips in the structure of the track are almost the main thing, it can always be emphasized the character of the track and give it a special charm, highlight its features. There was also a colossal work in the field - percussion. I realized that working with small (unnoticeable) elements of the composition is very important. In general, in music, as well as in art, details cannot be ignored, most of my tracks consist of particles that I combine with other elements of the track in the process of work. Whenever I take a step into writing music, and if it sounds like it was meant to be or even better - it's an incredible thrill, you sit there and think - oh yeah! I did it, I did not work in vain. These are the feelings as well as the feedback from the listeners - this is the biggest reward, this is really a real buzz! What do we do music for? - For buzz!

Project:

The project turned out to be quite large, mainly due to the large abundance of percussion and effects in the track, although I combined some of them in sections on the mixer for processing, most of the sounds had to be processed separately, somewhere I added more delay, somewhere more reverb, somewhere, the equalizer settings are recorded in automation, so the project turned out to be not small! :)

The track turned out to be rich, mystical and danceable. Like many of my tracks - danceable and dark, Kind of pumping! lol 🤣

Bass:

In terms of bass, the work was also difficult. I used the main bass from the

, naturally I had to do tricks with the ADSR knobs, and some other parameters.

This is with regard to the main bass, in the track I made as many as 4 bass parts, I really wanted the track to sound bold, to pump with its assertiveness.

Transitions and Drops:

Working on transitions and drops is a hot topic for me. I believe that every unique transition (whether it's going out of a pit, or vice versa, entering a pit of a track) should have a place in tracks of this style. Specifically, in this track, the pit relieves the tension that creates the mood of the track, but at the same time, with the development of the pit, the track seems to pump even more, here is a light exhalation and bang! - denouement! Here it’s not even just a way out of the drop, but even some kind of roll. I did this on purpose, as there are pits in the beginning of the track to rest, but here it's just a quick exhalation and inhalation again, it may sound confusing, but I hope you understand what I'm talking about. Preparing for the culmination of the track here is just a pit - she walks with an inaudible tread, as if you feel how she is approaching but you don’t see her, somehow!

In general, that's all I wanted to say, of course, I could make a post and 10 times more if I go into all the details of my work with this track, but I will not take your and my time, in any case, I already talked about some of these moments in the past, or I will tell you in the future. At least we went over the most basic details of the track.
