Crypto & The New Normal

For The Longest Time
Crypto has always been the land of digital opportunity. Altcoins have always been the money spinners. Altcoin investors have always been successful. However, this cycle has proven to be different and unique. Sadly, altcoins remain at bear market valuations with many investors remaining optimistic. However, Altcoin Season appears to be an unlikely scenario.
The 4-year cycle appears to have run its course, and investors need to prepare for what comes next. Altcoins are no longer responding to a positive Bitcoin price. Their response to a negative Bitcoin price remains intact. However, the upside appears to be capped. This is a huge challenge for altcoins, and one that appears to be getting the better of the altcoin market.
Trading altcoins has become an art. A high tide lifts all boats is no longer the case. It is now more a case of identifying projects like ZEC, which has rallied nicely over the past few months. It’s no longer easy, and those who wish to participate in the altcoin market need to be prepared and equipped to do so.
Even the previous cycle enjoyed stellar returns from the altcoin market. However, this cycle has been a huge disappointment. It has also been an unwelcome surprise, with many altcoin advocates still hoping for Altcoin Season. Enjoying quick and juicy profits appears to be something for a select few. Altcoins are now a very dangerous avenue, and one that should only be travelled by the experienced.
Altcoin investors have to be prepared for two important adjustments. Firstly, they have to be selective. Secondly, it’s now a long-term game. Being exposed to the ‘right’ altcoins can still be profitable. However, investors are likely going to have to wait a lot longer than in years past.
Final Thoughts
Crypto appears to be entering a new phase, which will likely require exploration and patience. Even if BTC holds to the 4-year cycle, it’s clear that altcoins no longer respect it. This shift is likely to be challenged by altcoin investors. However, the market always wins. Once the market has made a firm decision, you have to comply. These are merely my thoughts and shouldn’t be considered investment advice. All the best, see you next time!
