In MoonKarts, raw speed isn’t everything. What often separates the winners from the also-rans is how well they use Power-Ups. These are special cards you equip in your racing kit to gain advantages, disrupt rivals, or defend yourself. You earn them by opening packs, then deploy them strategically on the track to tilt the odds in your favor.

Here’s a breakdown of the core Power-Ups available at launch—and how to use them like a pro:

  • Lunar Glide

You leave a slick trail of oil behind your kart, causing opponents who drive over it to lose control or spin. Best used in corners or tight segments where other racers are forced to follow closely. Timing is everything here.

  • Celestial Thrust

A burst of extra speed for a short sprint. Trigger it on long straightaways or right after tight curves when you need to recover ground. Use it wisely—wasting it during low-gain sections is a missed opportunity.

  • Moonfire Missile

Lock onto an opponent and launch a rocket that can knock them out or severely hamper them. Aim carefully: a well-placed shot can shift momentum. But misfires or poorly timed launches can waste the chance.

  • Cosmic Disruptor

Unleash an electromagnetic pulse that affects nearby karts, disrupting their control. Especially deadly in close-quarters or just before someone makes a pass. Positioning and timing are critical.

  • Lunar Bolt

Call down a bolt of lightning on one target. It briefly incapacitates them—great for taking out a leading opponent or breaking their rhythm. Use this when you have clear visibility and a known target.

  • Lunar Barrier

Perhaps the most defensive of all: when activated, your kart becomes temporarily invincible, immune to collisions and other power-ups. Perfect for escaping crisis moments—like when several opponents are gunning for you.

Expert Tips for Using Power-Ups Like a Champ
  • Mix attack, defense, and mobility. Having just offensive power-ups may get you ahead—but leave you vulnerable.

  • Know the track. Tight corner? Hold onto Lunar Glide or Cosmic Disruptor. Long straight? Celestial Thrust or Moonfire Missile shines.

  • Watch opponents. If others use their attack boosts early, your Barrier or disruptor can help swing things back.
