Silvertop had just finished today’s hike……I was heading back towards the beginning of our trailhead, when I spotted this young Deer bedded down in the green grass!😊
I figured paparazzi Silvertop better “Freeze” in place, and snap a few photos!😇
Click…click, I sure hope the shutter sound on my iPhone does not disturb this little girl!😊
Like most unplanned photos, I didn’t have time to silence my camera!😮
After I had my “Quota” of photos, I slowly walked past this Deer, and headed towards our road, and home.
She looked at me, and I looked at her, and apparently that was way more interaction with a human than this Deer wanted or needed today!😳
Slowly……..She stood up, looked once more at Silvertop, and she was gone……………

For many years now, the Silvertop’s backyard and woods, has been a nursery for Mom’s and their newborn baby Deer. We have five acres that back up to the forest, and Sumas Mountain.
Was this young Deer one of the tiny babies their Mom brought to the safety of our yard in previous years?
No one would ever be able to tell for sure…………..🤔
As hesitant as she was today to be near me, she stopped, and gave Silvertop a second look, before she left!😇
Liz tells me we must have have a giant neon sign over our house, that says all animals are welcome here!🤣
Maybe so……. All are definitely welcome!😍
