My entry for the Creative Work Hours hivefest-ticket giveaway

This is my entry for the Creative Work Hour hivefest free ticket giveaway.
Apart form all the joy and fun that comes with meeting all those wonderful hiveans again, Solarwarrior is actually on a mission.. .. not to the moon, but to make the earth a little bit a better place by using hive as technology platform and on-boarding a new user group.
Hive is a unique platform where one can share data that - after been permanently written onto the blockchain - can't be manipulated or amended and at the same time being censorship resistant and with open access to anyone. So a perfect system for checks and balances..
While there are a thousand possible use cases out there, one that I know pretty much about is the whole sector of aid-, help-, and charity-organizations.
Constant accusations regarding this sector are that too little money actually gets to the people and projects that urgently need it, too much bureaucracy, too slow, too much overhead cost, no accountability and little reporting and disclosure.
So a solutions to this could be to "tech-it-up".. but why waste tons of money and time if the optimale aid-operating-system (AOS) is already there and is already fit for the future as it is based on web3 technolgy?
Introducing HIVE.IO
In my humble opinion hive is the optimal operating system for such a new platform.. and while you could assume that those organizations could actually build their own dapps on hive.io, for a start it could actually be much much more easy... more or less everything is already in place at this beautiful blockchain.
But how to convince those decision makers? Those organizations are actually not really famous for using the last tech innovation. So lets give them a live example or actually several live examples where we can proof and they can study..

Introducing project @solarisfuture
That project has been establish by a small but energetic group of hiveans over the last two years and much more support and input from the hive community would be required to really get that case as a big hive.io showcase started. That's the reason why solarwarrior has to fly to Kuala Lumpure and mingle with all those hiveans again. ;-)
But what is project @solarisfuture?
The first step was to start a curation initiative to curate content that fits, supports, educates, discusses and connects content to boost (small scale) renewable energy implementation, philanthropy, nature conservation and direct help projects.
While that amount of content is still pretty small on hive, we could at least help a bit by our curation efforts to keep those specific content creators on the blockchain and encourage them to create more content again.
And we could of course support other hive initiatives/communities like @cleanplanet, @plantpoweronhive, @hive.helps and others by our voting power.
Also a big shout out to those founders and the whole teams! You are truly our great example.
Second step will be to start a micro-lending operation to make small scale renewable energy projects in developing countries a reality, step by step.
The idea is, that hiveans from those countries blog about a project proposal, e.g. solar power plant for a remote village with no electricity / grid connection and hence likely very high cost for diesel for running a very inefficient generator-set. Those gensets can consume between 0.5 and 1 liter of diesel or petrol to produce a single kWh of electricity.
That translates to production costs of 50 to 100 cents per kWh.
Solar power is only a tenth of that cost, however upfront investment is needed for solar panels, cables, electric controller, batteries and inverters.
And from my experience that upfront investment amount of several thousand USD is just out of reach for many remote communities... hence they keep on wasting their money on petrol (if they got an old genset) or even on disposable batteries (if they even do not have a old genset). So why not finance that solar power plant and pay back the investment by the savings in petrol and batteries and the better economic earning possibilities by using electricity for light, cooling and tools?
Problem is, many many people of the global south are still un-banked, and if they are banked the either might not get a loan or the called interest is just to high and expensive to make economic sense.
Now @solarisfuture might get this working.
We would like to do the finance by lending HBD to local project owners. While the loan has to be payed back (so that those HBDs can be lend to the next project), @solarisfuture will not charge interest on those loans. Instead the project owners are required to report frequently about all different aspects of the project during the loan term.
So we can not only kick-start the projects on the financing side, but also can save all learning on the blockchain, accessible to the whole world - forever.
We hope that we will have more applications than funds accessible, so that projects proposal submitted onto the hive blockchain can be discussed, voted for and be improved by the hive community.
And if we get several successful projects running for some time we will have the show cases to first convince small NGOs to give it a try and then maybe bigger ones.
This could be one way to reach out and get new hiveans onto the blockchain as well as more institutional use cases.
So if you are interested in what we are doing, you can also reach out to us on our own sub-channel on cleanplanet discord channel.
I am grateful that you devoted your precious time to read through our plans, happy to receive your feedback!
THX!
CU all in Kuala Lumpur!
